Upcoming/Rumored Projects

There are a lot of confirmed projects and a number of substantiated rumors although they are all kind of spread through the threads. Perhaps it has been all put together somewhere but I can't find it. The closest I can find is the original post in this thread but right now it is a year old, some of those things have been built and a lot changed since then.

Here is my attempt to put together known and rumored timeline (and I kept it only to probable rumors, not long shots). I would definitely appreciate comments and especially corrections if something is wrong or missing. Also, I have included UNI here as well - that perhaps belongs to a separate thread but I thought it'd be fun to see them next to WDW projects.

WDW

2017
AK - Rivers of Light
AK - Avatar Land (Flight of Passage simulator, Na'Vi River Journey boat ride)

2018
HS - Toy Story Land (Slinky Dog Dash coaster, Alien Saucer Spin spinner)

2019
HS - Star Wars Land (Battle attraction, Millennium Falcon simulator)
HS - Mickey Mouse ride replacing Great Movie Ride
MK - Wreck It Ralph replacing Stitch Escape

2020
EP - Guardians of the Galaxy replacing Universe of Energy

UNI

2017
Volcano Bay (new water park)
USF - Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon

2018
USF - Fast & Furious: Supercharged

2019
nothing

2020
USF - Nintendo Land (Mario Kart dark ride, Donkey Kong Mine Train, perhaps Yoshi's Island replacing E.T. Adventure)

The most frustrating thing on this list is Wreck It Ralph replacing Stitch. And only because Stitch is already closed/seasonal. Is it going to take them that long to change the one ride? If not, why is it already partially shut down? Surely they've been working on a replacement project for a while before operations loses an attraction...

Apparently WiR is no longer in the running to replace SGE. SGE was originally announced as only seasonal, Christmas and Easter. But then Martin was saying that WiR was going into SGE and happening sooner than later. But then, things changed. WiR was no longer in play for SGE. And the whole Tomorrowland refresh is also delayed a bit... probably due to changing what's going to replace SGE. Which means SGE could be in limbo for a while. Maybe opening up again for Easter. Maybe gutted and used as a M&G flex space as so often happens until they greenlight construction for the new attraction.

So, what SGE will become and when it will become that... is not even rumored yet, let alone announced by WDW.

So much drama in one thread. I feel I should get popcorn. I'm surprised by WiR not going into SGE. I thought we had a new movie coming out soon. A sequel! Surprising they wouldn't want that synergy.

The hope is, because our insiders won't say, is that WiR's Candy Rush will overlay Speedway. And the better hope is Speedway going away completely. Both those scenarios would allow WiR to be elsewhere allowing something else more suited to SGE's space to go there.

A removal of the speedway with the replacement of a more detailed candy rush would be perfect for that area. If they really wanted to get serious about adding capacity and fixing that area of the Magic Kingdom they could also integrate another one of the video game lands that was featured in the film as a transition point to tomorrowland.

Not only would this add another detailed area to the park and get rid of the wasteful speedway but also serve as a possible direct competition to universals soon to be video games inspired land.

I suggested this almost a year ago. Nice to see people are still running with it, and if TDO grabbed this idea from here I want my cut of the profits lol!

Unfortunately, the SGE space would need a complete overhaul inside if they don't want a 'you look at something in a tube' attraction.

They could probably fit some sort of "fly to an outer space destination in a rocket" attraction there - say, a mission to the moon or to Mars.
You know, that just might work and only need a couple more screens and hydraulics under the seats. Smashing idea, I hope they get the imagineers on that right away. All they would need then is to put some guy, let's call him Tom Morrow out in the preshow and just like that, we will have a perfect Tomorrowland attraction.

I believe a complete overhaul is the idea. The circular rooms will be torn out. The on and off again rumor of a WiR ride presumed a large screen everyone was facing, like the Minions or Simpsons ride.

The rumor is that one of circular rooms is already deconstructed.

Sorry, I haven't read all 88 pages so if this has been discussed just point to that page.

Read an article about the MaxPass going to DL. Anybody have any real specifics or news on this?
