In other news, they have been testing new laser projections on Screamin for the past few days. Testing is expected to continue for the next few weeks. It's rumored that the new lighting effects may eventually become part of WoC. It includes different patterns, chasing lights, projection mapping, etc.

Screamin', Jumpin' Jellyfish, and the Zephyr all have new spiels. Screamin' has a couple new different launch spiels voiced by Neil Patrick Harris.

Screamin's safety spiel at load is horribly repetitive and annoying. Something along the lines of "if you're in a HURRY HURRY HURRY for your SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY..."

edit again: the "not ready? too bad!" made me laugh when I first heard it. :lol:

I really like this change. Very different from the previous 'surfer guy' spiel, and the randomized variations are a nice improvement.

I kinda liked the surfer guy. Sure it didnt make the place feel like the 20s but aside from theme it was a pretty fun voice. I would have been happy if they used the same voice but added different dialog but ah well

Nobody was sure it was IN FACT Neil Patrick Harris till he came out on twitter a few days ago and said has anyone to Disney's California Adventure lately? I hear the new spiels on California Screamin' are pretty awesome!:lol:

On Friday, Guests riding California Screamin’ at Disney California Adventure park may have noticed a familiar new voice as they prepared to board the longest and fastest roller coaster at the Disneyland Resort.

Disney Imagineers recently worked with actor Neil Patrick Harris to make new recordings for California Screamin’. These new themed recordings recall a carnival sideshow barker, in keeping with the theme of all the boardwalk amusements in Paradise Pier.

This newly released artwork is the first of several scheduled attraction art releases. Additional series releases are scheduled within months of the initial Paradise Pier series. The first California Adventure attraction posters will be available at retail locations throughout the park on Jan. 28.

After a long delay, construction for the new Bayside Brews will finally begin next week (Feb. 7th)

Thanks for all of the updates, guys. I'm planning on visiting either Disneyland or WDW this year, and given all of the building on Paradise Pier, I'm leaning towards Disneyland right now. The work on the park looks amazing. I can't wait to see it in person!

Last week construction walls were removed around a large portion of the Paradise Pier area. The walls that stretched from Mermaid to the Corn Dog Castle were removed after a long phase of construction. Here's a look at some of the new establishments that are now open

Seaside Souvenirs (former Souvenir 66) reopened last week with a new look and layout, as well as new popcorn lighting to replace the neon

A section of the counter has been removed, allowing guests to walk into the shop - also note the new faux wooden planks to simulate a boardwalk

Although Corn Dog Castle returned with minimal changes, they made some aesthetic improvements that make the area look a lot better. It now features new landscaping/trees and outdoor patio and seating area

A new shop is set to open in San Francisco St, directly across from the Little Mermaid ride entrance. Embarcadero Gifts is expected to open up soon, and it looks like interior work is well underway

According to Al Lutz's column in MiceAge's round up, the yet-unthemed side of the Carsland rock wall (facing Paradise Pier) will be themed as a rocky cliff to fit in with the theming, with the Entertainment building being re-skinned.

Screamin' is currently closed for refurbishment, the loop as been replaced and the coaster itself continues to get painted.

A loop less Screamin', as of today Sept 21 the new loop has been installed.
