I will never give you additional information, only one post and it will not be often. I like this site, I like the fans, and I like creating a buzz. As you see my statements come true, you will come to respect my info from the soon-to-be WED Enterprises.
For today:
- Haunted Mansion is receiving major refurbs at Magic Kingdom. In an effort to separate it from DL HM, the Florida iteration, and to increase its re-ride numbers, it is receiving an upgrade that will allow it to be "more haunting" when the sun goes down. Additions will also go to the classic daytime ride, but much of the work is going to a spookier flavor of the night.
- Typhoon Lagoon is receiving a new series of themed waterslides adjacent to Crush'n Gusher (the area currently referred to as the "boneyard" by CMs). The plans have been finalized for some time, but management delayed the construction due to the upper-brass considering what many considered an ill-fated third waterpark.
- Toy Story Mania development has already hit several snags. The biggest snag is that the "videogame" sections are not up to the bar imagineers had originally set. You can expect a delay in TSM's opening date as Lasseter is rumored to be willing to up the budget to ensure that the WDW Toy Story ride is a real E-Ticket attraction. Many imagineers are still very skeptical about the game segments and are hoping for a complete overhaul.
- Two HUGE additions coming to The Great Movie Ride in Disney MGM Studios. First, the Footlight Parade section is going to be receiving a refurb for restoration to its original grandeur. Some modifications will be included in order to prevent the maintenance requirements previously brought on by the scene. Second, the entire Alien scene is going the way of the dodo. In its place will be a scene from a recent trilogy, along with new dialogue for the hijacker who will fall for the alure of a certain piece of jewelry in the scene. You can expect some big PR buzz about the latter as some are already calling it the "Potter-swatter." Obviously its just one of several additions Disney views as having a significant response to any additions other theme parks or resorts may be featuring.
Now have yourself a grain of salt.
