Hello. I've posted it casually but I figured I would sit down and write a full length post about my recent interview with the mouse, as well as questions I have.
When I interviewed, the lady that worked with me (her name is Christine) was wonderful. I'm going on vacation at the end of the month and talked to her about my options, since obviously I can't be trained, leave for a full week, and then come back. I was terrified about being wait listed and she found something that would work perfectly. She was unable to schedule me for training at the time, as the calendars for June aren't yet available but she is giving me a call in a week or so to schedule that and my official new hire process (drug testing, prints, etc).
One major concern I have is that I got hired as part time. I did vocalize that I was currently in school (semester is over), though I'm not sure when I will be going back as I'm moving to Orlando and won't have the ability to commute to my home town school, which I would prefer to do, as I'm almost done with my degree and have built a relationship with the professors for my major. Anyways, on my application I listed part time or full time, but she took in consideration a potential school schedule, and as a part time starting out my three official work days would be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Another issue I have, however, is that I will need to be making rent which would be, at minimum, 22 hours a week. Say I worked three typical eight hour shifts: I would just barely meet that requirement with no extra room.
Is there any way for me to switch to full time since I'm not even sure when I would be going back to school, when I start, or would a department manager be flexible in giving me good hours (30-35 at least)?
