UP! Characters coming

What really bugs me is that Jiminy has to leave..this was the only place in all of WDW where you could meet him. Terk is a rare character, too.

PLUS the Welcome Show is being taken out...that is a loss!

But I'm still very glad UP characters are coming!

The removals could be the result of fewer short "friends of characters." All the retired characters are a bit vertically challenged. It's funny that you can meet Goofy at 3 locations most days at Animal Kingdom, but they couldn't save Terk, LOL.

Terk now appears in the Move it Shake it Celebrate it street party three times a day at the Magic Kingdom. You can't get her autograph there, but you can dance with her.
And yes, there are an awful lot of "vertically challenged" characters if you think about it, and only so many friends to assist them. And Terk is short and amazingly heavy -- she is a gorilla, after all!

Carl and Ellie rip my heart out and tear it to shreds every time I watch that with my children. It's the most beautiful love story.

That said, we just adore Dug - we have two labs that are very much of the "I have just met you, and I love you!" mentality too :) Can't wait for my girls to meet him!

With the popularity of Talking Mickey (even though he's not permanently out doing M&Gs), I think Dug would be a fantastic character to talk. Imagine interactive fun with Dug, and when he talked the collar light lit up red! That'd be awesome!

Hopefully Carl will join them, seeing as he is the main character!

I'd love to have my pic taken with Mr. Frederickson. ;)
You could get your picture taken with Carl at the Pixar 25th Anniversary event in Epcot earlier this year. He was the single best character meet I've ever done. He spent time with everyone, was funny, personable - it was amazing. I'd love to see Carl again. It was an absolute top-notch meet.

The first fifteen minutes of UP rank up there with the best in cinema history. What a marvel of cinematic efficiency and storytelling that opening is. Beautiful and very moving. :o

Totally agree. I took my girls to see that in theaters and couldn't believe how moving the opening of the movie was. I was bawling and my girls were like "What are you crying about!?" LOL
I also cried at the end when Carl goes to present him his badge and says "I'm here for him." Awwwwww....
