IoA was supposed to have an X-Men attraction of some type when it opened. Somewhere along the line it got cut, because I have a, and have seen other IoA preview items that have "X-Men Adventure" printed on them along with Spidey, Hulk, and Dr.Doom rides. I've never heard whether this X-Men Adventure was to be a show or ride. I know they had a mini street show at MSHI in it's early days but it was kind of on the weak side.
They could always level or convert the stadium in Toon Lagoon and extend Marvel Super Hero Island to include some new Marvel based ride or show.
I thought I'd read somewhere that Universal had some type of agreement with their neighbors to only have fireworks run seasonal now(with a rare special event ok to have fireworks) unless they're more of a flash only type of firework.
I'd really like to see some sort of show similar to The Dynamite Nights Stuntacular Show over at USF rather than a show at IoA
I too prefer Illuminations over the other end of the night shows at WDW, although my favorite Disney fireworks show was Sorcery In The Sky at Disney MGM.
My favorite fireworks show in Orlando doesn't even happen at one of the theme parks. It's at Grand Lakes Orlando, off of John Young Parkway and Central Florida Parkway, which includes the Ritz Carlton and J.W.Marriot.
While it's shows are usually only on major holidays with a special events show thrown in once in a while, it's the longest lasting pure fireworks show I've ever seen. Plus the fact of being able to step out back of the house and watch it, helps makes me bias to this show.
I'm torn on the BTTF thing, on one hand I agree with the it just needing the movie redone, then on the other hand I wouldn't mind seeing it removed and either putting in a new ride there, or use the free land back behind, and to the side of it to possibly put in a couple of new rides.
Just remains to be seen if GE will even hold on to the parks, much less open up the wallet to make anything major happen, since all they seem to be doing is fixing up certain parts of USF that have been neglected for a while.
