I am really bummed out. The release date for the Unofficial Guide 2006 was supposed to be yesterday 08-08-05. I went to Barnes and Noble today and they said they would not have it until the end of the month. I also checked with a second book dealer Waldenbooks and they siad it was not even in their system yet. Has anyone puchased the 2006 book yet? I guesse I will have to buy it at Amazon.

I spoke to the publisher yesterday and they told me that the earliest shipment for this book would be the last week in August or the first week in September. They also pointed out that it is a rough estimate and there is always the possibility of further delays.

My husband thinks I am psychotic for buying the books! He thinks I should be the author or at least someone interview me for the books. He cannot imagine what more they can put in print that we don't already know.

if you order it from barnes and noble sometimes it will be shipped to you so it gets there the day of... or just go to the store and pick it up in person. :)

Thanks for the info adamcav I will sit tight until the end of the month. I dont think my 2005 copy can take many more readings. It is wearing out fast.

In case you didn't have 2004 they don't really change a whole lot. Its not like they rewrite the whole book, they just edit it to include the new info. A few new quotes, a real review on soarin', thats about it.

That being said, I have been waiting for the 2006 release as well. Can't wait to get my copy.

say it ain't so! I've had the book pre-ordered for a month now on amazon, and i've still got an expected delivery date of August 16-18??

I've got to have that book in hand for my trip in September!! How will i live another month without it??

So glad i can come on here and share my obsession with ou guys! My DH doesn't understand...:p

I carried the 2005 book around everywhere I went las fall in preparation for our January trip. I spent more time reading that book than I did my textbooks for college! :lol: I think I'm going to hold off on the 2006 book and wait for the 2007 edition as we're not going until May '07 anyway.

I bet Bob and his crew had a lot of fun updating for MYW, ADR and EMH. That could be why it's late getting released..

There is an updated "best park to go to" chart on their website.

So, until the book is released, I guess we have to content ourselves with that.;)

I have mine on pre-order from Amazon also. Was suppose to have it by the 12th. I will have to check my order and see if they changed it. I was soooo looking forward to the end of this week for it!!!!!!!! Say it ain't so..........

Glad to know I am not the only insane one waiting for it :)

As of five minutes ago, Amazon's delivery estimate for my pre-ordered copy is still August 10, 2005 (yep, that's TODAY). I'll be very impressed if it arrives in the next few hours, lol...especially since the order status still reads "Not Yet Shipped." ;)

I look forward to getting the '06 guide.

I picked up my first Unoficial Guide to WDW just a couple weeks ago. It's the 2004 edition and it was only $3. I find my self reading bits and peices every day. Not so much for trip planning but just for my daily Disney World fix lol. :D

I really enjoy reading the comments by readers. Do those change year to year? It's interesting stuff even though I may not agree with many of them. lol

I work at a Borders, and as someone said before, the dates are estimates. However, I know that we received our copies of the 2005 around August 17/18. Thus, hopefully, the new one should be out around the same time.
