What is going on with it? I believe it should be open today? Is it? Has there been any more progress in the unrepainting? Has the ride changed at all?

It's scheduled to be down until early April. The ride system is being upgraded and some cosmetic work is going on on the inside (carpet, paint, etc.) and the outside (paint, tile and concrete repair). It looks the same on the inside as before so no surprises this time.

UoE doesn't open until the first week of April; if you're reading it off the Hub - it's wrong. There is nothing that you will notice has changed inside and the outside is merely a paint upgrade.

So, you mean that the carpet that smells like it's from the age of the dinosaurs (musty, mildew-y, damp, smell) will be replaced!

I bet I will notice if they're changing the carpet!
It'll be bitter sweet if they are - depending on the ambient temp and humidity, sometimes it added to the mystique of what was to come, other days it smelled like a soggy mop!

They're looking for CMs to pick up shifts though (currently as of now still one shift left on 3/28)...I'm not saying I disagree with you, but there is a discrepancy somewhere, somehow.

Are they "trained" or "untrained" shifts? Not that Im looking to pick any up, just wondering about staffing levels.

There were more untrained shifts available on the hub last year at this time than there was this past holiday season. I was able to pick up some really fun shifts last year.

I thought the carpet was replaced during the last refurb. a couple of years ago. Is there that much traffic on that carpeting to replace it again?

The carpet was replaced in the 2nd turntable and replaced the same type of carpet. The preshow and postshow (exit) area carpet is still in good condition.
