CoP closed for about 4 days to put in wallpaper in some of the theaters as well as other minor changes, it was not because it is a seasonal attraction

This has been on the weekly update at mouseplanet for several weeks:

"Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress – refurbishment of seats and carpeting occurring on a rolling basis; the attraction remains open. However, the Carousel has been returned to the list of "seasonal" attractions, so its open status may change at any time."

This is on the official WDW site:

"Enjoy an involving stage show in this famed revolving theater. Take a journey with an American family as it experiences technological changes throughout the twentieth century. Humorous family moments reveal how life has gotten easier and more fun. (open seasonally)"

Cheers.

I did a search on this and found nothing so I thought I would post this. I was At WDW last weekend to ride EE and while there bumped into one of my old friends who happend to be an area manager at Epcot. He said that it was a for sure thing that Universe of Energy would be going to seasonal opperation. With TT in re-hab that would mean that that side of future world would only have one open attraction.

Well, seeing as this would be a pretty awful idea I wouldn't be surprised to see it actually happen. It reminds me of a time in 1996 when Motion, Energy, and (I believe) Horizons were all shuttered in Future World East.

UOE is a huge people-swallowing attraction and I can't believe they'd take that much capacity offline. I wouldn't mind taking it down for a rehab or new layover, but moving something to 'seasonal' is well known to fans as the death knell of an attraction. I would hope they have the sense not to leave two huge show buildings back to back sitting empty.

TestTrack could be looking for the original Load music, which is indeed a rare and wonderful piece. It's much slower, has sort of a "mysterious" feel to it. Is that one, TT?

Btw, did you know that the music for the original Theater I film ("The Energy Creation Story") was originally written for Disnelyand's Adventure Thru Inner Space (and to the best of my knowledge, never used). It was modified some for the original Universe of Energy, and fit the feel of the film perfectly!

G7

I did *not* know that, but thinking back it makes perfect sense. I've heard all the ride audio from ATIS and the music definitely has a similar vibe to that eerie Theater I music. Very moody and ominous... I loved it.

BTW, nice to see you around these parts, G7!
