Universal's 4th Park!? Will it hurt Disney!?

I like the sound of the new Uni park if it does happen and those are the lands it gets.

I am a fan of both Disney and Universal as I feel they offer different experiences, I am a thrill seeker and will give anything a try as is my brothers. My parents for me some up why Disney shouldn't be too worried because as corny as it sounds Disney will always have that magic, my parents love it for that reason (as do most people) and I think that is also why it is a big one for younger kids. People will moan that it is expensive (which it is) and they will also be unhappy with some of their decisions but yet they will still go, they will still buy lots of merch, and they will still get that buzz. That is just my opinion on it but then again they might just go to Disney for Dole whip and Mickey's Ice Cream Sandwiches.

I am hoping it does force Disney's hand to build more, build better and build original because as park goers it can only be great for us I hope.

The infamous 3rd/4th gate rumor for Universal is a very peculiar one. As the proposed land is not at the resort but at the resently reacquire land by Lockheed Martin land that they already owned and sold. The hotel that is being build for this area is right on the old Wet and Wild lot (and I don’t think it has been even announced yet).

What is interesting for me is that the actual rumor is that Jurrasic Park at IoA is been updated to Jurrasic World, including some expansion.

That Nintendo land maybe split into the new park and the area behind the Simpsons and ET, with the main attraction been Mario Kart.

I’m literally the most pro-Disney person on this board. Apologist has been used to describe my opinions.
I've seen others, so I'm not so sure about that ;)

As for universal building another theme park. I think its in response to what has been doing these past couple of years now with regard to HS and updating epcot.

Regarding Disney building another theme park, I think they'd need to include a new resort as many of the resorts tend to be completely filled up. Also consider Disney's infrastructure, I think another park would put that under duress, whether we're talking about busing, parking traffic.

MK is already overcrowded, the future addition of TRON in 2021 will only add to this. This park will always be a must visit for guests so it needs capacity regardless of any 5th park....

DHS: While they are other attractions at this park, there will be only 10 rides when Galaxy's Edge is completed at the end of 2019. With the addition of another E-ticket before 2024, this park will still only have 11 rides.

9 rides in DHS when GE is complete. :)

And I concur with the point about MK. Right now, Disney has the luxury of raising prices and adding black out dates to purposely reduce attendance at MK. MK just won't stop being a truly must-see park, ever.

The other three parks need to be worked on to try to get them to that level, and WDW is working on them, finally.

With regard to competition: WDW is way far ahead of Uni right now. And for all that Uni is planning to do in the next 10 years, WDW is doing almost as much if not the same, which will keep it way ahead. Uni could add a new land in an existing park and open a new park with four more lands. WDW can add five more lands within the parks they currently have without the overhead of a brand new park and space them out for drawing big crowds for a decade to come.

It's good both are moving forward.

As someone born in 1981 who has been a crazy Zelda fan on every console since my dad (who worked in Japan until 2004) brought home a Famicom, I wouldn't miss Nintendo land for anything. I love harry potter, but a Nintendo presence might be the turning point for me.

My 2 great loves in life (sorry, MB) are FFVII and LOZ. I'm not really a fan of most traditional Disney fare- Newsies, oliver and company, and the Renaissance movies aside.

What this world really needs is a gamer theme park. Mmmmm, Sephiroth stew.
