Destination Vision
The proposed
Universal Bedford Resort is designed to be the UK’s premier immersive entertainment destination—a large-scale, purpose-built theme park and resort complex offering world-class attractions, high-capacity hospitality, and unique leisure experiences, all within a landscape-integrated setting in Bedfordshire.
With a projected opening in
Spring/Summer 2029, the destination is expected to welcome up to
8.5 million annual visitors, with peak days accommodating
55,000 guests.
Themed Entertainment Park (Core Zone)
The heart of the project is the
Theme Park Core Zone:
• Immersive Themed Lands
- Multiple uniquely designed zones, each with signature intellectual property (IP), thematic architecture, live entertainment, and interactive zones.
- Attractions include high-speed coasters, dark rides, family experiences, water rides, and state-of-the-art 4D/VR shows.
• Guest Experience Design
- Queuing minimized via virtual queue technology.
- All-day entertainment with roving performers, staged shows, and interactive zones.
- Parades and nighttime spectaculars planned as daily showpieces.
• Accessibility and Inclusion
- Attractions designed to accommodate guests of all abilities.
- Step-free access, sensory-friendly spaces, and translation tools built into park infrastructure.
On-Site Hotels
The resort will launch with
three hotels:
- Family Hotel: Value-driven lodging with early park access, dining plans, and character interactions.
- Themed Resort Hotel: Fully immersive environment tied to park IP, featuring exclusive show access, themed dining, and resort guest perks.
- Premium Hotel: High-end hospitality targeting extended-stay guests, business travelers, and international visitors. Includes spa, pool, and VIP concierge.
Hotel capacity exceeds
1,000 rooms at opening, with phased expansions planned post-launch.
Retail, Dining, and Entertainment (RDE)
A dedicated
Retail, Dining & Entertainment District is planned within the Central Plaza and peripheral zones:
- Flagship themed restaurants
- Quick service and mobile-order kiosks
- Licensed retail including Universal brands, local collaborations, and high-traffic tourist shops
- Evening dining, music, and lounge experiences
Live Entertainment and Events
- Indoor performance venue with flexible staging for concerts, variety shows, and seasonal productions
- Outdoor amphitheaters and roaming performance spaces
- Capable of hosting private events, film premieres, and fan conventions

- On-site spa and fitness facilities available to hotel guests and VIPs
