Universal to Invest $1.5 Billion in Orlando Resort

I think that a Jaws/Amity theme could be good for the new waterpark (especially if they would bring the ride back) - and it could help to please some of the Jaws fans that were upset when the ride was removed, but I don't know whether a "shark attack" would be a good idea for a waterpark - is it a bit tasteless?

Some of us have joked about this before. And if the theme is okay for a theme park, I don't see how a water park would be any different.

I just had a mental image of a great white shark bursting out of the water at the wave pool with the force of a jet engine...yeah...I'll pass.

I feel like that would become a huge source for childhood trauma...

Trauma builds character. ;)

But seriously, there are realistic (and practical) ways to include the Jaws property in any future water park. Replicating Amity would give them a logical place for the park's beach, along with themed food locations and shops. Knowing Universal, they'd probably bring back the midway as well (they love those things.) We'll never see the ride again, but this could be enough to placate many of the disgruntled Jaws fanboys, as well as keeping one of Universal's biggest films relevant to the parks (as it should be.)

Yeah, that's what I was meaning (not putting sharks in the water with you).

Imagining entering the park, and walking through Amity on your way to the wavepool.

You could even have sharks in a tank (like at Discovery Cove/Aquatica), but I don't know whether Universal would want to get into animal keeping (although they do at Animal Actors on Location)

I do think that they said that they were going to be doing something "unique" with this waterpark, so they could bring the ride back if they wanted (but I wouldn't be expecting it back)
