Universal revamps an attraction in Seuss Landing that never opened.

Not to mention I don't care for roller coasters and that is most of what IOA has.

Ummm.... Islands of Adventure has 2 rollercoasters and TONS of other E-ticket thrill rides that are in no way shape or form a roller coaster. Magic Kingdom has more rollercoasters. I've heard this statement many times and every time it baffles me.

Actually, according to most coaster buffs I've asked, IOA has 5 true coasters. Hulk, Flying Unicorn, Fire, Ice, and Pteranodon flyers. MK only has Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain Side A, Side B, and Goofy's Barnstormer.

And even that is debatable, since Fire and Ice aren't mirror images unlike Space Mountain which are mirror images except for 12 feet. And you're infinitely more likely to have both Fire and Ice operating versus both sides of Space Mountain.

Also, as far as the parks go, Universal Orlando only has 2 fewer coasters than all of WDW. (UO: 5 IOA, 2 USF. WDW: 4 MK, 1 MGM, 2 AK).

So, Universal is definitely the coaster destination v. WDW. Now that I've gone ahead and proven your numbers wrong, time for a cerveza. You want?

In the spirit of Universal's latest ad campaigns, they are going to wait until April and re-open the ride as.....

EXPEDITION WHO-VILLE!!!

Isn't this attraction just like the TTA but themed to Dr. Seuss?

I wouldn't really classify this as an E-ticket ride.

I'd say a combo of monorail and tta ish....it's not covered like TTA but the ride vehicles aren't covered either like the monorail....at least the cars I saw a while back.
oh and bri, check you pms

Wow. It's really too bad that I'm going to be away at camp for the Summer of 2006, because this is the only thing at IOA that I have not hit. I'll be going in April/May for a field trip, but of course that'll be too early. Expect some construction photos, though. :D

I've actually seen it running empty one time, and then just sitting still the other times.

I always thought they should have just decorated it and had citizens of WHO-VILLE and other Dr. Seuss characters riding around the Landing as "atmosphere" rather than just sitting there.

They could even have had Live performers on the cars at different times, or some sort of light show.

I guess those ideas can wait for another attraction!

I'm looking forward to seeing exactly how they make it work!

That's a great idea! Put costumed characters on an attraction that isn't even fit for people to ride! Hoo-ray!! :sohappy:

The ride did look cool while I was there, as it passed over the entire area. Although I didn't much like the idea of eating at Circus McGurkus while kids went round above my head.
They could drop anything...
