News Universal lays off workers - Is Disney far behind them to make up for losses??

Why would people be enraged if it was Disney? I fully expect there to be layoffs in every sector of the travel and hospitality industry. I doubt this comes as a big shock to anybody.

This board loves to bash Disney (ironic), especially when they're trying to do what corporations must do: try to make money.

Look at how it backfired on them now though, now everyone on the internet is opposing them to reopening so **soon** I heard that in Disneyland they were not given the green light to open or whatever but nothing’s set in stone now there’s the delay and people are happy, it’s weird what people want.

The internet "mostly" was always opposed to the parks opening so soon. 55% of the country has been opposed, scared out of there minds and hiding in there house. Both Disney / Universal are / were in more of a no win situation. The same could be said for most of the country. No matter what you do, someone is going it say it was wrong.

At this point it’s still much too early to tell what the future holds in that regard. People will be brought back in phases as needed and some people will never be brought back. Who, where and how many will change depending on how and when reopening proceeds and what happens domestically and internationally over the next several months to a year. Nothing is set in stone.

Again though there are backstage and backstage management position that have been recalled. There are office and technical positions and administrative positions that have been recalled. It really varies based on individual departments roles and need.
