"We captured this photo of Thierry Coup, Senior Vice President of the Creative Studio, working in his office at Universal Creative. What do you think he is working on?"

Banana on the desk, odd tree (Skull Island?) on the shelf and just to the left of that what looks like artwork of a large ape.

If they put Kong in there it would be another huge, bold move from Universal.

Despicable Me makes the most sense, especially since it is replacing one of the few kiddy centric attractions at Universal Studios. Kong would be an awesome addition, but I just don't see them replacing on of their few kiddy rides with a much more adult themed one, that would have to be drastically different in style.

btw, I rode Jimmy Neutron this past Sunday and it seemed to be a bit greener looking (in terms of color scheme). I'm guessing some simple interior work is being done when it isn't operating on peak days. Again, this points towards Despicable Me because it would be a pretty easy re-theme considering it already looks pretty scientific.

It appears Universal will make an announcement on the new ride May 19:

I think it is both Despicable Me and a King Kong attraction. If you look behind the blinds in the bottom half of the window on the right side you can make out Kong's nostrils and the shape of his mouth. On the top half of the same window you can make out the shape of his eyes.

I totally see that too.

It MUST be true.

DH can see the ape, I can't....but I think it has gotta be King Kong.

Wish it was Back to the Future coming back ;)

While I loved King Kong and was sad to see it go, it was replaced with a superior ride. I still would like to see a newer longer version of Hollywood's Kong attraction put in our park. :)

Back to the Future WAS THE Universal ride for me. It was the ride that set the park apart from the others for me, and began my interest and obsession with Universal. The day I heard it was closing for a Simpsons ride, a little part of me died that day. Yeah, it was a sort of rough ride, but it was awesome! To this day I wish they would build an indoor/outdoor hybrid DeLorean launch coaster shooting you off at 88 mph! Indoor scenes could take you into Hill valley of the future and into the past with a new prehistoric encounter!
