Bloggers with freshly-painted (3 weeks ago) nails who start each video with, “oh my God, guuuuyyyysss! We’re hEEeeere!” will fill it.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It's going to mainly be people who want to say they're the first to be there and report on it -- it doesn't really make sense for anyone going to the parks to stay there before EU.

So Celestial: 19.5 acres
Stardust Racers: 7.75 acres
WWoHP: 11.75 acres
Dark Universe: 9.5 acres
SNW: 7.5 acres (so small!)
HtTYD: 13.65 acres
Entrance: 1.6 acres

About 71 acres at open. Roughly 35 acres of expansion pads.
You get the feeling that the park is a very small part of what they will build on this land over the years?

Booked for Thanksgiving 2025 at Helios. The prices were shockingly low - Disney would have priced it double, and it would still be selling fast. HTTYD suites are gone for that week, and park view categories are selling out pretty quickly.

The ticket packages are a pain. I'm hoping single-day Epic tickets become available next year. For now, I just have the package they recommended (3 park, 4-day park hoppers + 1 day of Epic). Depending on what new options become available, I will likely cancel that and get 2, 2-day park hoppers + 1 day of Epic. That would give us 2 days of Epic and 4 days of park hoppers.
Universal already stated 1 - and 2-day passes to Epic would be available before the park opens, along with other options

work out kinks at this hotel, plus it will have access to the other Uni locations/Resort. Why not open it if it's ready? *shrugs*.🤷‍♂️

…….because it’s remote, as in for the time being “BFE” ——accentuated with adjacent construction

It would have to be damn cheap for me to stay there under that circumstance

It's less than three miles away from the rest of the resort. There are Disney hotels that are considerably further from certain parks.

And almost every other Universal resort is within walking distance of the parks -- the Disney comparison doesn't make any sense here. Why would anyone choose to add the extra travel time to/from the parks if it wasn't significantly cheaper when the only other Universal resort with that issue is Endless Summer, and it's still significantly closer?

It's at least a 15-20 minute drive to get from there to the Universal parking deck (Google Maps says it would take 21 minutes right now at 10 PM, so I imagine it will take even longer at busy times). I assume some kind of bus service will be operating, but then you have to factor in waiting for the buses.

It's a short term issue until EU opens, but it's still a real one.

If you have an asset sat there ready to go why have it closed and not generating money? Plus it helps with training and getting a new theme park area populated with guests to help work out teething problems.

It wouldn't surprise me if Stella Nova was selling rooms cheaply on one of those 'hidden hotel' sites before Epic opens.

I didn't say Universal shouldn't open it -- I said, from a guest perspective, I don't know why anyone would choose to stay there right now over other Universal options unless they're getting it really cheap.

Keep in mind the main road to Epic isn't open yet, and it'll have dedicated bus lanes for shorter travel times.

How does the comparison not make sense? You can significantly shorten your travel time to the Magic Kingdom by staying in the Contemporary, or to Epcot from the Yacht Club, but some people stay at the All-Star Resort instead. It's the same thing. Also, you can say they're within walking distance, but many people don't want to walk. Then you're waiting for the boat or a shuttle.

I happen to live near Epic Universe. It's no more than 10 minutes to the main UO campus without traffic. Literally just a straight shot up Universal Boulevard.

I'm only talking about the 3 month period when this is open and Epic isn't. Even with dedicated bus lanes etc. it still doesn't really make any sense as a guest to stay here over any of the other options; it's less convenient with no additional benefits to make up for it (again, unless the price is significantly less).

Because at Disney, no matter where you stay, you're going to have to travel to get to some of the parks. There is no resort that's close to literally every park, the way every single other resort at Universal is. That's why the comparison doesn't make sense. You'd be staying away from every park when every single other option is at the parks (except Endless Summer, which is still much closer).

Also, All-Star is a lot cheaper than Contemporary or Yacht Club, which is another factor.
