His latest film, Wild Robot, is further proof of his talents.
I have never seen a film in my life I want to see Universal tackle more than that. I don't know how, or in what regard, but I want something with it.

I think that, once again, while having a knowledge of the IP will enhance your enjoyment of the land, there's little to no IP barrier on the basic concept of "dragons and vikings". If you want a land, or lands, that live or die on your enjoyment of the IP, Universal has one of each in USF and IOA and are about to open the most disappointing one in EU.

Like Wall-E, I don't think Wild Robot is appropriate for a theme park setting. Both movies are very much about returning to nature and community and rejecting mass consumption and artificiality.
It's more... the art aspect? I don't think I'd want something like a dark ride or "Roz Corn Dog" I'd want like, a well planted place to relax themed after the film? Look at what Disneyland just opened in Radiator Springs with "Red's Garden" or whatever it's called.

I haven’t seen anything on social media about this but is there still going to be a nighttime show with the fountain?
I feel like it would've been announced by now if it's there for phase one.

I don't think that's true for HP -- I know multiple people who don't care about HP at all but thought Diagon Alley was by far the most impressive thing at Universal. I think its like Pandora, wherein a connection to the IP doesn't seem to matter (I'm not sure Hogsmeade falls into this category, though). I've never seen Avatar and love Pandora.

More importantly, HP is leap years beyond HTTYD in terms of IP reach/interest. There are far more people familiar with HP than with HTTYD.

I also think if you're going to frame HTTYD as "dragons and vikings" that everyone knows (which I'm not sure I even agree with because the HTTYD dragons are highly stylized), then HP can easily be framed as "wizards and magic".

I think people that like the IP are struggling to separate their personal interest/fandom from what the average person with no connection might think. That said, I'm certainly not suggesting the land is going to be a failure. The fact that it's going to have more to do than any of the other lands alone should keep it churning along nicely.

HTTYD is going to have a breathtaking revel coming out of the portal. Especially at night.

The land is like it's own tiny viking theme park. Highly themed family coaster, spinning flat ride, highly themed interactive boat ride, world-class theme park stage show, themed play area, multiple M&G locations (Toothless/Hiccup, Ice Dragon, and Gobber the Belch), a Meade Hall, 2 quick service, and, of course, shopping.

Hiccup's VS SDD. Go!

As long as I get to do this I will be a happy camper...

I'm more so talking about the HP land they're doing at EU when I talk about that, even if I included the other two in it.

Diagon has the most top of the line rides and overall land build throughout any Universal property. I have no attachment to HP and actively dislike the brand but I'll bend the knee and recognize that Diagon is extremely well put together.

Meanwhile the one in EU is based around a failed series of films for it's main setting and attraction, and when realizing the spin-off wasn't working out, switched gears to make the ride of the land the nostalgia-classic HP ride.

I think my issue stems more from "did we really need a third HP land" than anything else I guess. But I've knocked EU for that since the day the lands got leaked and softened it with "at least I got Berk".

Like I said before, I carry a lot of love for HTTYD, it's a franchise I hold near and dear to my heart. I'm happy out of every DW franchise that Uni Creative picked it to be the one to get its own dedicated land. So obviously I'm carrying bias for Berk and it's main hook. I just hold reservations about the HP land in EU working as well as Hogsmede and Diagon since it relies a lot more on the established "lore" of HP, using Fantastic Beasts to prop itself up. It feels there's less of the hook of "wizards and magic" for me which, admittedly is softened by weird critters (I like those platypus guys, Nifflings?). But the overall build of it (just Paris, I guess) makes it less exciting and fantastical than the other two HP lands.

The lands look amazing, especially The Universal Monsters and Nintendo. I'm probably in the minority but IP isn't a draw for me. Rides and attractions are a bigger draw.

They didn’t switch gears. The land was Ministries of Magic with the main ride at the Ministry of Magic and the second at the Ministère des Affaires Magiques. The ride was reworked several times but it stayed centered around the trial of Dolores Umbridge.
