Universal Dining Plan to be introduced

I'm no expert on dining plans, but wouldn't it just be easier to say all food vendors minus FFB?

Looks like half the CityWalk restaurants are missing, too. No Margaritaville or Hard Rock--probably the two most popular--but Emerils, Latin Quarter, NASCAR and NBA (!) aren't included, either. Which is odd, NBA is almost always dead; might be only Universal owned. Come to think of it, Panda/Moes/BK Express missing, as well.

Might work in the Summer, but come Winter, dinner options severly limited.

I don't understand why it doesn't include Three Broomsticks or FFB? The prices are pretty much standard across the board at all QS places, especially at Three Broomsticks whose menu is strikingly similar to Thunder Falls Terrace in many respects! It's not like they charge more or have a different pricing setup. This is incredibly bizarre.

And I feel like Disney is going to pounce on this one. I'm sure somehow some way they're going to claim that Universal is infringing on some unknown copyright or trademark. It's just too similar to the DDP.

Three Broomsticks and FFB will attract the most guests due to popular IPs.

The list of TS places is really short. If they don't add any more, then it's going to become next to impossible to get into any of them ever.

Since they are just rolling this out, I can see this being a test before a more fleshed out version of the Dining Plan is offered in the future.

What they're currently offering could end up being the "base" dining plan, with additional tiered levels offering more options (Simpsons & HP food) to guests. In the same way Universal offers Express and Express Plus.

It seems they are trying to get people to at least try it? I had an email that had an offer of 2 free days of the dining plan for a resort stay of 4 days or longer.

Interesting, though, that they are not giving it for length of stay.
