Universal connecting their parks with HP Train will WDW expand the monorail?

New waterpark? Universal is opening a new one or someone else? Sorry, know about Potter 2.0 but must have missed about the waterpark.
Wet 'N Wild apparently sits on leased land. The plan is to end this situation by eventually building a water park right there at Universal Orlando Resort that would likely be a themed experience over Wet 'N Wild's basic water park design. It is sort of like the update to Star Tours, it seems to constantly be a story that people expect to happen eventually, the when, not if, seems to be the big unknown factor.

Thanks! I didn't know Wet N' Wild was renting the land they are on. Not that Wet N' Wild is terrible but that would be really cool if there were another themed water park in Orlando. BB and TL are so fun in their themes. I'm sure Universal could do some great things too. There are some really amazing water slide/raft/tube ride designs out there that I'd love to see brought to the Orlando area.

This is loosely related, but an interesting exchange between a few of our 'insiders' last week. The thread was discussing possible new World Showcase additions, then the topic of a new use for the current Equatorial Africa space. Maybe my imagination is heading the wrong way, but this seems like it may imply a new form of transit. Looking at the area on google earth, this would be convenient access to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Does the 'loop' reference point to a bus loop?
The Equitorial Africa area is on the opposite side of World Showcase Lagoon than the Epcot Resorts and Animal Kingdom (and Im assuming that the Outpost is what is being referred to as Equitorial Africa?)

That being said, could this be a secondary entrance into the theme park essentially splitting the two? Was this not the original plan to have two parks, then they "pushed" them together?

There were rumors of an "in park" DVC in EPCOT i believe. Makes me think this is what they were talking about. Re-read that conversation and view it from the stand point of a DVC/hotel.

That would definitely be interesting. I guess along the concepts of The Grand Californian and DCA on the west coast. You can enter the park right from the hotel.

I can't get over how many rumors are out there and how GREAT all of them sound! I really wish there was a shred of evidence or hope that any of them would be coming to fruition within the next couple years! Believe it or not, I am dying for TDO to make it worthwhile for me to buy passes again!

I don't think you can compare WDW monorail with the Hogwarts Express. One is transportation on a large scale and the other an attraction that happens to transport.

I have a feeling the train ride if it is an actual train, will be completely immersive. Given universals creativity with Potter, I can see the windows being video screens etc.

The question on my mind is...Will UO consider WWOHP a third park or upcharge when 2.0 opens? I can see tickets as such... 1 park per day. 1 park with Wwohp per day. 2 parks plus wwohp per day.

I think Martin's wink is a good sign they could be moving ahead with a VERY nice themed waterpark idea that I've seen concept art for, but don't have it right now (I think it was on OrlandoUnited)

That makes me really intrigued. I'm so excited to see what they could do .

I think you may be talking about the surf themed hotel that had the water park attached to it. I know that concept art was posted on OU once before.

I find it funny that this thread implies that until this new HP train arrives, there isn't any direct way to get from one park to the next. Except for the less than 5 minute walk between gates!
Monorail expansion doesn't fit the theme of the other parks. It fits into MK and EPCOT but not HS and AK.
How does it fit the theme of MK?

Tomorrowland maybe? Not that Tomorrowland is that much about tomorrow... man that whole thing needs an update. And Stitch needs to die...

I just can't see this happening. Short of keeping the building under a few stories tall, or building it like Kidani where the side of the building overlooking the parking lots is just walkways, a large chunk of your rooms would look out onto backstage areas. Grand Californian was built in a public area, so they didn't have to hide all the backstage views.

As great as the monorail is even if it was financially viable to expand the monorail I would rather they spent the money elsewhere on actual attractions in the park. The Hogwarts express isn't really the same anyway as although it is transport surely it will be a attraction of sorts in it's own right.

No i don't think this will happened. Cost would be way too high, plus there are other things Disney are looking to do to make there parks more challenging for Universal.
