Interesting and random. My initial thoughts are:

-In this economy? Interesting

-Wonder what the pricing will be in comparison to the other parks whenever this opens

-no Minions (at least from the concept art) seems shocking lol

On second thought it may actually be the centerpiece building there. But that's pure speculation we have no idea what will even be there. I'm sure they can add minions as walk around characters or a restaurant. It actually seems like a cool concept.

So... was Universal always going to make this announcement today? Because, I'm digging the "I see your free parking and ride photos, and your easing of reservations, and I raise you one family-friendly regional theme park + adult Vegas thing."

I'm totally here for any Disney "We gotta pinch pennies, economy, you know" / Universal "Making it rain" shenanigans.

Strange concept but not necessarily a bad idea. Seems strange that Universal would want to get involved in more regional entertainment since that could end up diluting resources and confusing their brand goals... But maybe it could work?
The focus on younger families could be a nice way to test out some sort of attractions for that target demo which could be cloned/repurposed for USH and USO

Looks a little smaller in scale compared to the other resorts. Not shocking since Texas...isn't exactly a top tourist destination.

Texas is 2% behind California in tourism and it's in the top 5...

Also as far as this park goes, Disney couldn't care less. This will have zero effect on them, just like Epic Universe. They are immune to competition.

I will say this news is a bit odd coming on the heels of the early retirements at Universal Creative, and considering they’re midway through completing Epic Universe

Hilton also announced a new brand today...another shot specifically aimed at Disney. :p
South Seas Escape by Hilton coming to Flamingo Crossing. Here’s some concept art:
