It's six days now until I'm on my next Disney vacation and my first ever disney cruise. You guys have any last minute advice for me?!

And yes, I know this post isn't necessary. But I'm just so excited.
I usually book a mani-pedi to relax! Might I suggest doing some yoga or getting a massage to help reduce stress levels! Congrats on your upcoming trip and have a magical time!

Necessary schmessary! Don't worry, this is the News and Rumors forum - we don't flame for "unnecessary" posts. We don't mind being excited with you!! :)
Just one thing I'm curious about. I've heard people say that the only way to purchase things on the ship is with your room key, billing it to your room. Is this true? Am I not able to buy drinks with cash or a debit card?!

That's true. But you can put cash or a debit card on your account so that's what you'll essentially be using.

What a bummer!
I'm not sure what's bumming you out about that. You can use the credit card or debit card to pay for everything. Or even the cash. You just give it to Guest Services to apply to your account. Then whatever you purchase on-board (using your Key To The World card) gets paid off with the cash or card that you have already deposited.

Additionally, if you want to use the cash to tip at the bar, you can still do that, although bar drinks have an 18% gratuity automatically added. I'm sure cash is appreciated by the room service staff, as well.

It might seem like an extra step, but it's honestly really easy and convenient.

I guess that makes more sense. I guess my worry was having to figure out how to split the room charges with my family. But I guess what you're saying is that you can link your debit card directly to your specific key?

Actually, I do believe that's possible. It's my understanding it can be done online somewhere in the online check-in process.

You can. If you don't do it online, you can do it when you check in. We've had 4 different cards on 4 keys from the same room before.

Exactly. Tammy is right on. We usually travel with my mother-in-law and when we do our online check-in, there's a page that allows you to put in a payment method for each passenger in the stateroom. So I enter the info for my Disney Visa card for my wife, daughter and myself, and I enter my mother-in-law's credit card info for her own account. Again, it's pretty easy, since you have to do the online check-in anyway.
