Trip Report Unbelievable sights, indescribable feelings..... (8/5-8/9 2017)

...soaring, tumbling, free-wheeling through an endless flight of passage line.
Just back from a magical 5 day trip! We booked just 3 shorts weeks in advance. Who said impromptu trips were impossible?! So just to recap from my pre-trip report...
Who?
My family of 4, and we travelled with close family friends of 3 who I grew up calling aunt/uncle/cousin. I wasn't sure if they would want their picture posted so I'm going to just focus on my family. 7 of us total..how hard could planning be?!

My brother (17), my mom (21), myself (20), and my dad (21 and a half)

Where?
My parents stayed in a Garden View Room at the Contemporary and my brother and I stayed with the other family in a 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom villa at Bay Lake Tower.
I don't have any pictures of the room at the Contemporary but I snapped a few of our room.

I slept on this wonderful pull out couch.

This was our kitchen that never really got used.

I did have my own bathroom so that was great.
I don't have pictures of the other 2 rooms because there was always people sleeping in there

We had a theme park view which was awesome. I loved laying in bed at night and being able to see the monorail pass through the curtains

I'm currently in the middle of moving but I'm going to try and post everything asap while it's still fresh in my brain

Day 1 (8/5)- Arrival & Magic Kingdom

My Magic Band was bedazzled and I was ready to go! Eventually all the jewels came off but it was cute for like a day

I said goodbye to my little angel and we were ready to head to the airport.

My mom was in Vegas on a girls trip and she was going to meet us at the hotel. Her flight from Vegas left at 1 am so she could meet us at the hotel. She ended up getting there the same time we did!

My dad was wearing a white undershirt when we were getting ready to leave. I wanted to ask "are you really going to wear that?" but I didn't want to be rude. I went outside to load some stuff in the car and when he came outside he was wearing this:

I couldn't stop laughing! (these were taken later at the hotel)

Our flight was at 8, and we were on our way to the world by 11:00.

Did I mention how much I hate flying?

I missed the WDW sign, but I got the MK sign. One of my favorite sights!

We checked into the hotel but our rooms weren't ready. So we checked our bags and straight to the parks it was! Keep in mind my mom has been traveling since 1 am

So a little back story.... My mom and I are planning a trip in December and over Spring Break. So..APs it is. She wasn't ready to tell my dad yet for whatever reason, so we kept it a secret. She bought hers in advance, but couldn't upgrade my tickets since I was under a different hotel reservation. We walked over to MK and we all got through the gates just fine.. except my mom. She hadn't activated her AP so the mickey head flashes blue.

So far we're all inside the gate, and everyone wants to know what's going on with my mom. She explains to the CM the situation, and he takes her to guest relations. Of course she doesn't have her ID with her to activate the pass. Meanwhile, my dad goes over to Guest Relations to see what the hold up is, and the cat was out of the bag He handled it pretty well though....
My mom went back to the hotel to get her ID, while the rest of us went in the park. We just hung around Main Street and looked around until my mom came back.
The day was off to a rough start..... but the fun is yet to come

Day 1- Arrival Day & Magic Kingdom continued
Once we met back up with my mom, we had FPs for HM, so we headed over there. Woohoo!! First ride of the trip!!! The SB line was around 45 minutes and the FP line was a little backed up, but we only waited a little less than 10 mins. We go into the stretching room and surprise...the ghost host had already started his spiel And then when we came out of the stretching room.. oh my god it was like herding cattle. My party of 7 got split up because people kept pushing and shoving past us. I love HM just as much as the next guy, but good god people act like Walt Disney himself is waiting to usher you onto the ride.
Not the best first ride of trip experience...but I was determined to not let that rain on my parade.
Next, we wanted to grab a bite to eat before our FP for POTC, so we stopped at Pecos Bill. Can't remember exactly what time this was, but the place was packed. We were able to snag a table as someone was leaving.

I had the nachos and dang they were good Not sure if they're always that great or if I was just really hungry
After we ate we headed over to POTC. There were people in my boat that were talking and I was getting kind of annoyed, but finally they stopped. Another lady was in the boat behind us taking flash pictures. Every time she would take a pic, I would turn around a look at her. Not sure if she noticed, but eventually she stopped. I got to see the auction scene one last time. But really, what is up with all these inconsiderate people?!

Next we decided to wait for Jungle Cruise. The wait was posted at 45 minutes, but we only waited 10! Meanwhile in line, we had a little family photoshoot

My brother HATES pictures!

Our skipper was great! I know the jokes are pretty much always the same, but the skipper can make a huge difference. Sometimes you can tell they do this 100 times a day and they aren't into it.

I really wanted to try Skipper Canteen but we never got the chance. Maybe next time

I was really bummed HoP was still closed, it's one of my favorite shows. But I can't wait to see the new one!

Next we went on Splash Mountain.

My brother always tries to make the most calm faces/poses during ride photos...you'll see.

We passed through Fantasyland to head to Tomorrowland.

130 minutes for 7DMT? No thanks.
We got in line for People Mover, one of my FAVORITE rides! The line was soon long.

I've never seen that many people in line! It actually moved pretty fast so we waited maybe 15-20 mins. It looked like it was about to stop pouring so we were glad we got on when we did.

The wind was not my friend!

Next we headed over to COP, also one of my all time favorites!

And then we got one of those good ole Orlando rainstorms...

We got some ice cream and waited for some of the outdoor rides to open back up.

I got a donut sundae from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, it was so yummy!

We went to go see the country bears to wait out the rain,

I think all of us ladies can relate to this song a little bit

We got Casey's for dinner, probably one of my favorite QS! I know I say everything is my favorite everything, lol.

I got the macaroni and cheese foot long, so good
The seating outside Casey's was filled with people waiting for HEA and not eating, so frustrating! Luckily someone leaving offered us their table, and we did the same when we left. One simple act of kindness like that goes a long way!

After dinner we were able to get Fps for Buzz.

Is it just me?! Am I the only one horrible at this game?! Not to mention.. we even got STUCK in the ride and I still got less than 100,000.

After Buzz everyone was worn out, but my mom and I we're still rolling! It was already 9:30, so we got in line for 7DMT before closing. The line was posted at around an hour I think but we only waited around 45 minutes. While we were in line there was a group of CMs behind us. I think one of them worked at a hotel from what she was saying, but not sure. The guy worked on the Safari, he was talking about the old version of the ride and said he got so tired of saying "Simba 1!" LOL.
Then it was time to head out...Day 1 was awesome!

I couldn't wait to get in the shower lol! My legs and feet were already aching and I felt so gross. All I wanted was to crawl in bed and get ready for EMH for HS for Day 2

Day 2- Hollywood Studios & Epcot
Hollywood Studios had EMH at 8, so we planned to leave our hotel at 7.
I had to plug my phone in across the room because there wasn't an outlet next to the couch. When the alarm went off I got out of bed to go turn it off, and I literally thought I was going to collapse my legs and knees hurt so bad LOL. A spoonful of sugar helps the meloxicam go down am I right?

We all met down at the bus stop at 6:45, and on the tv screen it said the next bus would be there at 7:10, so we had to wait about 30 minutes for the bus ): And then we had to go pick up at Wilderness Lodge...ugh. We ended up getting to Hollywood Construction Land at 7:45ish.

We were pretty far back in the RD pack but oh well.

And then my dad crashed my photoshoot.

We headed over to RnRC first.

SB was only 5 minutes! We didn't even get to see the pre-show, we just walked right onto the ride. I kind of like the pre-show because I really like Aerosmith so kind of bummed about that :/

Next my mom and I went on ToT alone because my dad hates drop rides. We only had to wait in line about 10 minutes.

When that little girl in the back row in the middle got on, we thought FOR SURE she was going to be crying the entire time, but she loved it!! We were so shocked LOL.

We went back to go meet my dad at the Trolly Cart Cafe

I just love the Disney starbucks cups!

The wait for TSMM was only 20 minutes so we jumped in line. We ended up waiting closer to 30 minutes. How dare Disney slightly inconvenience me by 10 minutes!!!!!

I was beating my dad the entire time but he beat me by 1,000 points in the bonus round....

Apparently my moms shooter wasn't working the entire time, so she told the CM at the exit and they let us ride again. But they sent that car through the ride again. I know it's probably a lot of work to get a car off the track, but they could at least have marked it somehow so they know that one shooter isn't working so they don't seat someone there. Now people would get stuck with that one all day. I would be so mad if I waited in line an hour and my shooter didn't even work!
On our second ride I sat with my mom and I won with flying colors

We went to go see Voyage of the Little Mermaid and then Star Wars Launch Bay. We didn't wait in line to meet any characters, we just went to see the film.

I love seeing Stormtroopers walking around!

And of course I had to go see One Man's Dream... still get teary eyed watching that documentary

We had a FP for the Indiana Jones show. Not my favorite show, but there really isn't that much else to do at HS. Also...does anyone know if the "people from the audience" are really people from the audience?! I know theres one guy who isn't thats a part of a fight scene at the end...but I still feel like they all did suspiciously well on stage. Hmmm...

We had an ADR at 50's Prime Time at 2:45, and we went to go see if we could eat any earlier...they said no ):

Meanwhile my mom and I went up to Guest Relations and upgraded my tickets to an AP!

Feels so good to finally be a Passholder!!!

Everyone does Disney a little differently...
Finally, it was time for lunch!

This is my family's favorite place to eat. We love the atmosphere! I was kind of worried going in because I had heard the waiters toned it down.. but our waitress was awesome! We had cousin Liz. She played the part so well. She came and sat down at our table when she took our order. She kept telling us to hurry up because she had homework to go do. Whenever we told her what we wanted she would say "gross!" My aunt ordered a water with lemon, and then changed her mind and said no lemon. Cousin Liz said "Good, I wasn't gonna go get it anyways." She gave us homework of our own to do, and she told us we had to write down 25 Disney Pixar movies that are only one word- no The's. It was so much harder than it looked! We worked with the tables around us, and we got to meet several nice people. It was a lot of fun!

I got the Chicken Pot Pie.

It was so yummy! I also got the brownie for dessert but forgot to take a pic.

Now it was time to say farewell to GMR...

The script was cringeworthy as always.

We got the Western Scene. Our cowgirl was so soft spoken we could barely hear what she was saying. You could tell she's done this hundreds of time and she just didn't care anymore. Kind of disappointed by that, but didn't want to wait in line an hour again.

I did end up buying a shirt

Now we were done with HS, and we decided to take the boat to Epcot.
