Uh oh. Somebody broke the Epcot parking escape.

There are accidents everywhere - looks like World Drive is closed. The people trying to head that direction have probably jammed up the exit for those going out the other way.

100 minutes to exit the lot, and another 25 to exit Disney property.

Looks like the 192 exit off World Drive was the problem. It simply didn't move. Good thing we were off to I-4 West.

Hope everybody else makes it home safe.

Thanks Dave. That would do it. We also saw some in lot green flashies about 20-30 minutes before first significant movement. Not sure if they were dealing with in lot issues too.

Happens every 4th and New Years, unfortunately. Any other day it isn't a problem, but on the 4th, Epcot's parking lot becomes jammed and unless you are parked near an exit in one of the *back* lots (as in furthest from the park entrance), you will wait a long time.

I've visited Epcot during Independence Day a few times and haven't found it to be as bad as reported last night. Nose to tail in the lot but once out it's usually smooth sailing back to the resort. Sounds like it was the crashes that made the difference. Hope everyone involved was OK...

I honestly don't understand why the park doesn't stay open past the fireworks in these cases. It would seem to me, that keeping the park open to midnight might help alleviate that a a little bit because some people would stay in the park instead of a complete mass exodus.

With MK open til 1 am, I have a feeling the traffic may not clear up til after 3 am.
