Ugh casting!

I was on restricted rehire status and it should be lifted now. Casting won't tell me over the phone what my re-hire status is, I have to come in. They also won't give me an appointment. Do I have to apply to find out my rehire status or do I just go in and ask to see a casting representative? I don't want to go through the hours long process of applying if I'm not even certain of my rehire status because even though I've met the requirements to have my resticted status lifted (being employeed for 6 months) I don't really trust that it really will be because casting seems to change their story quite a bit.

It would seem to me that if you went to Casting in person, neatly dressed, smiling, and with a positive attitude, and asked politely to speak to the next available Casting CM, they would be able to look up your re-hire status right then and there in the computer.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

I went today and it was kind of a total waste of a trip even though I didn't have to apply, I did just get to talk to someone at the computer. They told me that I can't actually apply for another week or so but they still didn't make it very clear if my rehire status would be lifted in a week, just that in a week it would be 6 months since the time I last applied and that I'd be able to apply again and prove my 6 months of job stability. Which I'm hoping means I'll get my re-hire status. It's so frustrating because I was never termed or anything of that nature, I just ended my college program without going seasonal.

I am also on a restricted rehire status, but it's been like five years since I worked there. Does anyone know if it stops at any point and I go back to rehire status? I hope so, because I have a phone interview on monday with entertainment.

They told me that in order to get my rehire status lifted I just had to be able to prove 6 months of stable employment.

you know that every college program CM automatically become seasonal at the end of their program, at least thats what my manager told me when my program ended

Errrr...not true, at least not for all departments. As far as I know, SOP is to terminate CPs with unrestricted rehire status at the end of their program, unless they extend, go permanent or go Rep, of course.

well that's just what my manager told me. he said that they put all of the CPs as seasonal and if they don't come back within a year then they just get wriiten out of the system or something like that

I think it's different for different departments. I wanted to go seasonal when my program ended but I couldn't because I had an attendance reprimand, which for having been on the CP for an entire year it isn't exactly crazy to have more than 5 points and a reprimand.

I went to casting today for an interview and it went much smoother than I was expecting. Not too terribly long of a wait except I had to watch that silly video for about the 8th time in my life. I showed them my 6th months job stability and now they just need a fax from my employer proving it and then it's under review and they'll let me know in 1-3 weeks. I had to fill out a form requested to have my rehire status reinstated and write a paragraph about why I think Disney should re-hire me. Even though I think being on restricted rehire status for having six attendance notations over the course of a year was pretty silly I humored them and wrote that I had grown up since my college program and was ready to be a responsible Cast Member. Although like I said, I hardly think it was irresponsible of me to have called in sick six times in an entire year but I couldn't very well be argumentative. So I'm hoping that was enough for them and I'll be able to audition soon and get the whole process underway.
