Personally, I like TL themeing better.

There just something about massive expanses of concrete in the hot Florida sun that my feet just do not like.

I think it all depends upon the age's of your group. To me, BB seems more geared towards the kiddies than TL.

TL is themed better. BB is laid out better, but as the poster above said, you burn the heck out of your feet. BB has more slides, so it's better for the thrill seeker. I think TL is better for kids and families.

This is a great question. For our first several trips all we were able to do was go to Blizzard beach because Typhoon was closed for refurbishments. Finally one year we were able to go and had the best time ever. Ever since then it has been our favorite. We love both of them but just something about that first time at Typhoon everything was perfect. I also loved the scenery and layout. The first time we heard the boom before the big wave and all the screams it sent all these goosebumps up my back and it was awesome.

Let's not forget sharkreef!! :animwink:

If I want a "beach day" on my trip, it's Typhoon Lagoon. Terrific theming, great pool, you can just relax.

If I'm in more of a water slide mood, I'd go with Blizzard Beach

Thrills: BB is easily better overall for thrills, but TL still has Crush n Gusher (water coasters with uphill blasts) which might be the best slides of either park. You might get bored at TL if you want to ride a lot of slides though, whereas BB has loads.

Theme: I could argue either way. BB is far more "themed" in the Disney sense. TL has a natural beauty and is more relaxing. I personally like TL's a little better.

Lazy River: BB wins here. TL has a very nice and beautiful lazy river, but the thing barely moves. BB's is longer, moves at a nice but still relaxing pace, and has an awesome cave in the middle.

Wave Pool: I had to throw this in there because TL's wave pool is the only one I even bother to wade into. The waves are a sight to behold and experience...especially the first time! If you are a good swimmer, head straight to the wave pool and get out to the deeper area before you even see the waves for the first time.

Overall: Tough call...I love them both. I think if I had to live with only one or the other, I would go with Typhoon Lagoon by a hair. The relaxing tropical vibe does it for me, it feels less congested, and the Crush n Gusher water coasters are awesome and have very high capacity (short waits).

Both are great - Blizzard Beach has Summitt Plummet ( the only "ride" I ever almost chickened out of as an adult ).

But I prefer TL due to the tropical feel and Crush and Gusher.

Both waterparks are essential to Disney, but both have their strong points. Both are well themed, but I think Blizzard would have a slight edge if Typhoon didn't have Crush n' Gusher. Because of this, its a tough call, so it depends on the day, but hope you have time for both.

i prefer TL simply because the last time (and onnly time i remember) going to Blizzard Beach, it was raining. so it reminds me of miserableness. :(

I've only been to Typhoon so far. I figured a guy of my size would have no trouble at all in a Disney "wave" pool. Yeah I saw it on TV which we all know TV makes things look bigger. Well, I was wrong. The second that first wave came our way I was frantically swimming the other direction. I couldn't believe just how big it was. It never got old. Also, the lazy river, wow! I loved it. I thought it went at the perfect speed. Crusher and Gusher are well done as well. Not to mention there is enough for the thrill seeker there too. That one slide that's enclosed that you drop at a steep angle is pretty good, and fast!

But here's the kicker, in true Disney fashion I never thought I was at a water park. How they do it I'll never know but the theming and seclusion there just made me forget where I was. The only time I remembered was when I was at the top of a slide in line and could see Spaceship Earth over the trees in the far distance.

Even though last time I went I got a fantastic sunburn, I like Typhoon Lagoon better. Crush N Gusher and the amazing wave pool are really what make it for me.

Though the sand can be almost as hot as the concrete sometimes...

For me, it's definitely Typhoon Lagoon. I just love the theming and feel of this park, and I've had such fun there in the past. My favourite attraction of TL is the wave pool, although last time I went I experienced Shark Reef for the first time and loved that too!

For me it is definitely Typhoon. From a first impressions Standpoint, I was excited to experience Blizzard Beach for the first time, the mountain lodge feeling is great, but the snow is not, it's bright and honestly started giving me a headache after a few hours. I also found most of the attractions here less enjoyable. With the notable exception of Teamboat Springs, which I agree is one of the best attractions at both parks.

Typhoon is relaxing in almost every way. On one hand the slides here (With the exception of Crush and Gusher) are wildly outdated. Theme park technology has been knocked out of the park in the last decade or so, and Disney has (for the most part) not embraced that. So if you are looking for the latest and greatest try Aquatica Seaworld's waterpark, as they certainly have.

Now with Typhoon, The lazy River (Castaway Creek) is one of the best water park attractions I've been on, it's long, it's great for transportatiainment around the park, and the landscaping is beautiful. The same can be said for the magically wonderful wave pool. While I said that many of the slides are outdated, that does not detract from their classic enjoyment, this park is full of most simple and fun slides where Blizzard tried too hard to make things complicated over there. Typhoon Lagoon is also home to the shark reef, I'm a big chicken and was terrified to try it the first time, but now I love it and it really is a must-do for me in the parks. Crush and Gusher is also a highlight, and has become one of my favorites. As I said before the atmosphere here is completely relaxing, and as long as you don't go in the middle of peak summer (mid-june through mid-august) lines here are usually not terribly long. (But that can be said for both parks)

Hope this helped! Good luck planning your trip!
