Typhoon Lagoon now testing the in-park complimentary guest Wi-Fi Internet service

The phone/tablet in the lazy river is obviously stupid, but I do spend a large amount of my time laying on a chair/towel. Yeah, I bring a book and my iPod to listen to some music, but hey...my iPod has WiFi! Sure, I'll check in on Foursquare, maybe check email, and do something if I'm not feeling into the book I brought along. It doesn't have to have a concrete reason to be there for you specifically. Just the fact that its there adds a little value to my day at the water park, even if I don't end up using it. I know I have the option in my down time and I appreciate that. This, to me, is a very good example of one of those little things a business does just because. Is it needed? Nope. Might some customers find it useful? You bet! Oh, almost forgot about my Pandora stations. Yeah, I see a bit of value added for sure.

yeah i was being sarcastic about the lazy river :p

each to their own i suppose; me and hubster will spend most of the day on rides etc, not really relaxing as such, but for my mom who doesn't like water (go figure) it'll be good for her so she can catch up with emails.

Yeah, WiFi at a water park is a bit like installing seatbelts on a DoomBuggy. Maybe Disney knows that the IPhone 5 is going to be waterproof. ;)

Wifi at the water parks? WTH. That never even occurred to me. Lulz
Yeah, it is a little scary. Surrounded by all that green vegetation, lovely sand, cool water, and awesome slides but they need to be on the Internet. Oops, excuse me for a moment while I pick up an ice cream at Typhoon Tilly's. I'll finish this post later.

Its good for the people who don't want to go swimming and are just there to stay with the family. But the whole wifi thing in all the parks should only be for the next gen use. You are on vacation people... ERGHHH

I've used the Magic Kingdom Wifi a few times since it went live, but I couldn't get it to work at all tonight. I tried several different tasks in several different locations and I got no results. I thought maybe there was high traffic, so I also tried after the park closed in areas that were basically deserted and I still had bad results. So let's get the wifi working before we start expanding it, shall we?

And sometimes, I have an urge for a particular song as I'm relaxing in a lounge chair, maybe reading a book while I bake in the sun. If I don't have it on my iPod, I can now use Spotify, Pandora, etc. and my vacation is now better because I got exactly what I wanted while I was relaxing. I love the details and theme of Typhoon as much as anyone, but honestly, its not much more than a glorified beach with water slides for me. And what do I do at the beach/pool? I pull out my iPod and a book while I lounge around. Sometimes vacation is more like everyday life than some here make it out/want it to be for some.

I'm as much against an idiot pulling out the iPad and spending all day on it walking around one of the theme parks as you are, but I see the many ways the wifi service will also enhance my vacation outside of NextGen, especially when it comes to my quiet time at Typhoon, in this instance.

Touche.... I understand where you are coming from. I should have elaborated more i guess. People who want to keep in contact with facebook, Tmz, friends, work, that kind of stuff. Before we had all this technology there was no way to do any of this stuff. You went on a vacation to get away from it all. And in disney your supposed to be in a fantasy land where everything is amazing. once you got back into your room you could always make that phone call to mom dad bf etc...

People really will complain about anything. Please learn to look outside how YOU do things before deciding what the world is for everyone else...
