As the previous poster said, they are both great water parks. They both have their own kiddie area, family tube rides and wave pool. We go to both, but if I had to pick only one I would pick BB.

TL, IMHO, is a better place for young children. There is a separate area for young ones, and the place is less hectic to me. There are thrill slides and Swim with the sharks area in addition. We have been to both water parks but
TL is our choice. :sohappy:

I love the atmosphere alot more at Typhoon, but Blizzard has more slides. Thing is, since you have a five year old, I would suggest Typhoon Lagoon, because it's much more family-friendly overall. Blizzard Beach is more the thrill water park.

We love BOTH!! Like others have said, you really can't go wrong with either. Each has a lazy river, and a great child's play area. Just pick one and have fun! You will love it!

I agree with everyone with that both parks are amazing.

I agree that TL is a better themed park.

I disagree that TL is better for kids that age though.

I think BB has a much better area for the kiddies and the wave pool area is a little more low key for the little guys, my son is 11 and those waves at TL are pretty rough even for him.

TL has great theming and is very relaxing, I've never been to BB!! With only one week at WDW we only go to a water park once and personally I can't get my head around a snow themed park in hot sunny florida! :veryconfu

Having been to both many times, I agree 100% that BB is a much better choice for younger kids. In addition to the above, the family raft ride is much much better and 4x longer at BB. Kiddie areas and lazy rivers at both are pretty much equal. If your youngster is a bit more adventurous, there are even some intermediate sized slides at BB that he/she may be able to try in the Ski Patrol Training area(Snow Stormers and Toboggan Racers)

I get enough snow in Pa haha so I stick with TL...I love the theme and overall appearance. I could stay in the lazy river all day!

I would stick to Blizzard Beach. My best friend went to BB as a young child and she has very fond memories of the slides - specifically the Toboggan Racers.

Both are excellent. As mentioned, BB has more slides and more thrills, but then TL has the much better wave pool and the Crush 'n' Gusher.

While BB has impressive theming, I find TL to be much more immersive and relaxing. It truly feels like you're on a tropical island somewhere and not in central Florida.

TL, for sure, simply because I think it has better quality attractions in terms of my family. However, Blizzard Beach has a more fun theme, methinks.

We have been to both....our kids preferred TL when they were younger now all they want is BB (now teens).
BOTH are great but TL is a little more low key/relaxing.
