OMG I'm so psyched for this movie to come out!! I think its going to be great since they are going to be in Mordor. I think since they will be there and it will be all dark and more evil will be going on they will use a few more special effects. Hopefully Legolas will kick some booty with Aragorn.

One of the UK Sunday papers produced a special colour supplement on the new film (launched in the UK on Dec 18th) with lots of photos, story lines, etc, etc. AND a special feature all about Gollum.
There was also a CD-Rom included featuring clips from the film, trailers and a section on the extended 4 DVD disc from the first film.

Yeah I got the soundtrack to it already, some guy just hosted all the mp3's on his site, and it sounds great. From what I've seen of the trailer thats on the LOTR DVD, its going to be awesome too.

Surely the best film will be the third.

I finished reading the third book last night, and apart from not really caring much about sam and frodo, i thought it was pretty great.

I'm really looking forward to the way they do some of the scenes.

Heading for the great escape.
Endured the first one, after 15 mins i realised why I gave up reading the book. Thankfully my daughters have volunteered to go with she who must be obeyed to the cinema sparing me from another ordeal of post hippy gobblins and fairies.

Definitely can't relate. Seen "Fellowship" five times and will try to watch it once more before Dec 18. Read the books 25 years ago -- slowly with the Tolkien Companion in hand to make sure I didn't miss a thing.

The product of one of the greatest minds of the 20th century, IMO.

According to Time magazine, the Two Towers is going to move faster and have more action, which concerns me a little because I thought the pace of Fellowship was perfect.

I think you should give it another try Snapper. You must have at least a bit of imagination to be a Disney fan.

I have to say it took me FOREVER to finish watching Fellowship. it was just too intense for me- I had to keep turning it off!

I never read the books and I probably should but for some reason that kind of fiction doesn't much appeal to me. I even bought one of them a while back and I have no idea where it even is. *shrug*

I do know a lot of people who are very eagerly anticipating the release of Two Towers. I am sure that the movie won't disappoint.

LOTR reads like the Bible. Very tedious, interspersed with excitement. Lush with layers of plot, emotion, applicability.

Did you try The Hobbit? It's MUCH easier reading than LOTR and a good introduction to Middle Earth. I read it to my kids a few years ago and they were spellbound. Then my daughter tried reading Fellowship and got bogged down.

I think that reading the books would be easier after seeing the movies because you'll have a general idea of who the characters are and their relationships to one another and the plot. And I wouldn't even try without a Tolkien Companion, which is an encyclopedia of people, places and things in Middle Earth so you won't have to wonder "Who the heck is that and what does he have to do with anything?"

I've tried other Fantasy books, but they never interested me. Once you've read LOTR, nothing compares.

I am leaving in about 20 minutes to pick up a friend of mine at work and them we're heading to the Palace 20 theatres for a press screening of "LOTR: Two Towers"

Local radio stations sponsored a bunch of tickets for the public to attend, to fill out the theater, and my friend was able to get our names and 6 others friends names on the list.

I haven't read the novel, so I am really in suspense...Talk to you all later. :)

Hopefully you saw "Fellowship," or it may not make sense.

Yes, I have also seen "Fellowship" (but only two times:lol: )

The Two Towers was good, and I will probably see it at least once again, to make sure I followed everything.

There is some unexpected "comic relief" during a battle scene, that will have you rolling in the aisles.

Incredibly unfair!!!! (That you got to see it.)

We're consoling ourselves by watching the 6 hrs of extras on the extended version DVD of Fellowship.
