TWO RESTAURANTS GOING DOWNHILL

We’ve been to Space 220 three times. It was fairly quiet. Never experienced anything like what was described. I think it may have been an anomaly.
It may have been, but I thought I read a trip report that they had a similar experience with other guests. I looked but couldn't find it to link it here.

Is Space 220 worth it on my family's big return to WDW this summer? Or should we just stick to the places we like?
Like others have said, they had a good experience and food. For us, the other customers gave bad taste (pun intended) in our mouths. 😋 My wife was OK with the food, but she never talks it up. I did not like the food at all. I defiantly didn't think the price equaled the food quality. But that's just my personal opinion.

I come from a place where everyone should try every place once for themselves. You may go away having the best time of your life. I took a look around the internet at multiple review sites and found it seems to be hit or miss on the food quality. Some have poor experiences like me, others having great experiences, but most in between like my wife, ok food, but forgettable. And I'll agree with what Chi84 said that it was probably more of an anomaly on the guest experience with the other tables.

So I'd say go if you were looking forward to it before, don't take my one experience, others have had a great time there.

My family, with our numerous young children, have dined at Chef Mickey's many times. And even in that environment, we've never witnessed the kinds of behavior you are talking about at Space 220. Yes, of course, it's loud and boisterous. And the kids get up and interact with the characters and so forth. But just running loose around the restaurant, going up to total stranger's tables, and so forth? I don't care how kid-friendly the restaurant is, that's unacceptable.
We see it often at home when dining out. As empty-nesters who actually parented our children in public, it is extremely irritating and it has become more and more common. I have corrected strangers children in restaurants when the parents couldn't be bothered.

Sorry that you had a bad experience but all the prices are posted online and on the menu so you had an idea of what you were going to be paying ahead of time. If the prices were to high then you should have gone to more inexpensive restaurants. But yes, Disney's restaurants have definitely gotten way more expensive post covid.
yes sorry you had a bad time at both. I will agree that dinning out everywhere has gotten expensive, i see a 20-30% increase in prices at all the restaurants that i go too (back home not in disney). prices have just gone up and in Disney more so.

You are quoting the wrong person.

I'd add Sci-Fi. Menu now it's just low quality burgers.
Aww, that's sad. :( I'd never waste a dinner there, but I like to do lunch there. Nice burger, fries, and shake. Haven't been there for a few years, didn't realize they've gone down in quality.

For those interested in California Grill, if you sit at the bar, you can order whatever you want. I know the OP was complaining about not being able to pick and choose. Sit at the bar, do what you want.

Had a late 3 PM lunch at space 220 about a month ago, food was fine, experience was cool. No issues.

Worth checking the place out and check off your list. Little above average food at best….you can pay additional $$$ and upgrade to a ribeye, and it is better that the inclusive entrees on the pre fix …… glad we went

We went twice, and likely wouldn’t go back unless we were with peeps that had never been and wanted to check it out…..

I recommend it for the experience.
It’s a cool little presentation that if you use your imagination can make you really feel like you are dining on a ‘futuristic’ space station.
It gives off a nice old school EPCOT Center vibe.

My few experiences there have been quite nice.
The food and service was good as well.
