Two resorts worth it?

In our trip planning it was just two of us, now there is a third friend joining us :). Since the room will now be split 3 ways and not 2, is it worth spliting our stay between a value and moderate? (4nights at Pop, nights at a moderate-either pofq or cs)...

Unless I knew there is a tour group coming in to your hotel, I wouldn't slpit my stay. While the rooms at a mod are a little bigger, I don't think the extra $50 per night is worth it. I would rather spend that money on eating at Crystal Palace or the Scifi or Tony's then on a larger room. But if you have money to burn, the larger room would be better for three adults, just stay at the mod the whole time.

Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks. Me, personally, I find the value rooms barely big enough for 2, let alone 3 or more, but I know other people couldn't care less. I like at least having the option of some amenities onsite beyond a pool and an arcade. And I like having the option of a sit-down restaurant onsite, on the offchance that we decide to call it an early or relaxed night once or twice during the trip. You don't get any of that in a value.

I'd suggest doing the split, and get as much park touring done as possible while at the value, then take the time to smell the flora during your stay at whichever mod you pick (reminder, POFQ doesn't have a sit-down restaurant per se, but Boatwright's in PO-R isn't too far. I'd still suggest Po-R or CS over POFQ or CB).

My 2 cents.

Thanks for the advice, we defintally dont have extra money, lol were university students! Ive heard pop is pretty nice so i guess to save money we could stay there the whole time. As for the larger rooms, i dont think we will need it, we wont be spending that much time there, just sleeping!
Any other thoughts though??

I know exactly what you mean! I was discussing it with my brother about how I want a hotel with roomservice and he said "are you going to order it" I said "No...but I want the option just in case"
I dunno..I figure if Im going to spend money to make myself happy I might as well go all the way :)

Being University students I would stay with POP. its just my DH and I and we love POP. If you have extra for a moderate, then save it and spend it on something else. treat yourselves to a nice dinner or something. or more souveniers. have a magical trip!!

We just did this for the first time. Stayed at POFQ but for the last day got a Magic Kingdom view on the 10th floor of the Contemporary. Wouldn't want to spend that amount for the entire trip, since we are AP holders and go about 3 to 4 times a year, but for one day, it was a magical extravagance. Felt like a whole new vacation, too!

Just a heads-up that might have an impact on your planning:

If you have more than 2 adults registered in 1 room, there is an extra charge per night. Value resorts charge an extra $10 per person over 2 adults per night, and the Mods charge $15. Since you are going to have 3 adults in your room, plan on paying an extra $10 or $15 per night.
