At WDW right now and so far the only budget cuts I've noticed is only buying 2 plates at the Coastal Eats booth instead of 3.

But seriously.

Just because someone works in entertainment doesn't mean they never call out or act like the early twenty-something that they likely are. And if that happens, it's not always easy to just "replace". Especially at the specific height that Mickey requires.

Sounds like budget cuts to me.

If management continually cuts, scales back, trims hours and cuts corners, it’s not a shock people will automatically conclude this is the case. Disney doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt.

It is, based on projected attendance. If projections reach a certain threshold, 3 rooms open and then 4. It's a minimum of 2 CM's per room that's friends with Mickey as each CM can only be on stage for 15-30 minutes at a time and then must rotate out.

Why would they need more than one room to meet Mickey? What's Mickey going to do, just run in between rooms? He's a busy mouse enough already, don't make the poor mouse run around even more.

I think Mickey used his magic to make clones of himself. It helps me cope with this.

May have to ask @nelsonj3 when he recorded this, (it was posted just a few days ago) but at the very start you can see the Friendship departing the Morocco dock. Now this certainly doesn't imply 2 boats were running, it could be they were not running the Germany/Mexico loop.


btw Josh, nice video, Morocco being one of my favourite pavilions.

I edited the title to "apparent" ....

As has been noted... 1 friendship boat was a budget cut... Just one that I hadn't noticed when all the docks were open.

I'm personally very sure that Mickey issue is a budget cut, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Today its at 70 minutes. Clearly Disney increased the budget by at least 40%.

I believe Mickey, and all of his friends, can do longer set when they work in an indoor air conditioned environment. I will reach out to my friends in the know on this and ask specifically about meet and greets like Town square.
