Tusker House

Yeah- I've only done breakfast, but we're now booked for dinner with the JB pkg. I was hoping for something like Boma, but with characters, but I don't think it's quite on that level.

We went last October, the cast member advised us on when to expect the charactors etc. We went for lunch on our daughters 8th Birthday, they brought her a card to get signed and a cake with a candle. The food was good, lots of vegi and healthy options plus the deserts where lovely. Try the carrot cake ;)

Love Tusker House.

Ask for the juice.

Try a little of everything to see what you like. You maybe surprised. There are a lot of rice, quinoa, and curry dishes that I had to convince the kids to taste because they were unfamiliar to them, but they ended up liking quite a few.

Be prepared for the noise, African drums and a parade where kids are given African musical instruments to play while they dance between the tables in a sort of impromptu conga line with Mickey and friends.

If you don't want your picture with Donald, you can skip it and get seated and to the food faster, just tell a CM when you check in.

To be honest, we have been to Boma 6-7 times, this trip Tusker House lunch had a better selection than Boma Dinner, this was our second Tusker House lunch, visit, we won't be going to Boma in September. Will go to Tusker House!

I've been there for lunch and dinner with various eaters (some super picky others very adventurous) and we all enjoyed our meals. I think it really helps with being a buffet.

We have been to Boma at least 40 times and Tusker House has the same quality food. We are typically choosing Tusker over Boma now.

When Chef TJ was at Boma, he was always there to make it more magical. Since he moved on to the other restaurants, it's not been the same.

That being said, they are both very good.

The funny thing is, for all the raves it gets, I was disappointed with Boma. I expected more exotic options with higher quality meats. In general, we have been lukewarm to less than pleased with all of the WDW buffet lunches and dinners, so I'm wondering what dishes you liked at Tusker? Ultimately, I cxld my Jungle Book pkg and just booked a regular dinner. RIght now, I'm keeping it b/c I promised DD9 a Donald meal, but Tiffins is looking really tempting.

I love their Tabbleouh. I probably just butchered the spelling. To me the meats were better here than Boma. I used to love Boma, but the last few trips just not that much out. Might be that it was really dead the last two times we ate there too. Assuming maybe the selection might be lower when it isn't crowded? The side dishes at Tusker House were way better this past time and juat way more on the buffet than at Boma. Tiffin's sounds great. Can't wait to try it this fall.
