I've read a few rumors scattered across some threads suggesting Turtle Talk may be relocating to one of the old "Living Seas" theaters, and that the current "Nemo and Friends" module (with Mr. Ray's Lagoon and the clownfish tanks) will be gutted to make way for the queue.
Does anyone have more details about this?
I haven't been to the new Nemo ride yet, but I'll be very impressed if they were able to cram the new ride into just ONE of the old theaters and the hydrolator area. I always assumed BOTH theaters were used for the new dark ride.
Also, I'd be surprised Disney would spend big money ripping out the current Turtle Talk infrastructure, not to mention the excessive cost of relocating the aquariums, filters, and exhibits from the "Nemo and Friends" module (I'm assuming that module and the current Turtle Talk would simply swap places? They will relocate the stingray lagoon and such, right?)
I can certainly see Disney's desire to increase Turtle Talk's capacity and get the queue out of the middle of the Sea Base.
But rather than swap locations, it seems the easier (and cheaper) solution would be to reconfigure the current Turtle Talk theater, maybe pushing out the back wall a few feet into the middle of the Sea Base, and adding tiered/stadium seating inside that wraps around the circular room. As for the queue, it just seems like a no-brainer to route it through the current "Bruce's Shark World" exhibit (or whatever its called), with the queue connecting right behind the diver lock-out chamber. Yes, I know "Bruce's" area is brand new. But it's also a bit pointless. Plus I think it would be much easier to relocate those "Shark" set pieces to somewhere else in the Sea Base than it would be to gut the "Nemo and Friends" module.
