Trip Report Tu in ‘25

Ever just the same
Ever a surprise

These lyrics came to mind when I thought about my trip reporting. (I also thought, Here we go AGAIN but the above sounds much more poignant.) It’s now that time of year when my Disney trips are frequent. And this Disney Senior loves sharing her visits with y’all because your engagement makes it fun!

Yes, there will be stuff that’s the same. Yes, there will be surprises (too soon for the reveals). And yes, there will be sun rises!

Spring break countdown is at 4 days.

Since this intro needs a picture, here are Tu.

Em and I immediately returned to use our SP.

We were sent into Luigi’s for new tires. The ones on our car weren’t sporty enough for the big race.

Oh that’s much brighter better!

There wasn’t a soul in the single riders line.

And you know what they say, “When in Rome…” (or in our case, when in Cars Land!)

After our MIA ride photo, I admit to being a little nervous holding up my fingers to commemorate our 6th ride. But it passed the censors!

The views from the bridge are - some might say - Incredible.

Jessie has her own attraction, the Critter Carousel.

Tu is not a fan of merry go rounds for obvious reasons. We passed on by.

LL#1 -Toy Story Midway Mania. “Midway” in the title here makes sense due to the boardwalk pier theming.

The attraction has added special 70 targets for the anniversary celebration. Each 70 target hit is worth an additional 700 points for the shooter. Each game has numerous 70 targets.

My competitive self was ready to go!

And I was quite proud of my achievement. (Sorry Em!)

Our vehicle paused here while the turntable directed vehicles from the other track into the unload area.

The game on the floor of this Victorian loft is amusing.

The Incredicoaster had been down every time we were in DCA. But not today!

There was no way Tu was riding (lesson learned in 2005!) so Em opted to utilize single rider.

She said single riders must take two elevator rides - one to go up and one to go down.

I waited in a shaded pavilion until she texted me that she was boarding the coaster. Then I walked over to the launch area to take pictures.

The splash start nearly got me wet!

I followed the train along the track.

Em said the character in the tunnels were truly Incredible.

For the record, I will probably never get to Disneyland, so I am totally enjoying your trip report. Including the throwback photos. Your "woops, wrong photo" have me laughing (some body part) off.

I'm going to WDW next month and Disneyland in November so I am loving this trip report to see recent pictures of what everything looks like. WDW will always hold a piece of my heart, but the more I go to Disneyland, the more I start to like that park too.

It’s been a fun walk down memory lane for me - I’m so happy you find the throwback pics as entertaining as I do!

I'm going to WDW next month and Disneyland in November so I am loving this trip report to see recent pictures of what everything looks like. WDW will always hold a piece of my heart, but the more I go to Disneyland, the more I start to like that park too.

Em and I stopped to use a restroom after gliding around the world.

Fun Fact - the ladies rooms in DCA smell like fresh oranges. What an appropriate scent choice! (@Tony the Tigger, you should have flown out here to confirm the mens rooms. Perhaps you can for us, @dizfan917?)

On our way to LL#2 something on a kiosk caught Em’s eye.

A Disneyland cap to add to her collection is a perfect souvenir for my cap-wearing daughter!

I’m not sure @DryerLintFan still frequents these parts, but I thought she might enjoy some special-anniversary cotton candy.

There were PhotoPass photographers out and about in both parks, but it wasn’t until today that we learned all PhotoPass pictures are included with LLMP - not just the ride photos.

So we stopped to get some pictures by the waterfall. The PPP was taking her time with each family - normal group poses, creative group poses, individual normal and creative poses of every member of the group, etc. She was excessively thorough, to the detriment of everyone else waiting for their turn.

To be fair she was just as thorough with us but I really only wanted a couple of normal shots, with the fullness of the pretty falls in the background. That didn’t happen.

These were the best of the bunch.

She was vague about what our facial expressions should be for the magic shot (“look surprised but happy”). We did not expect a bear to be beside us. In fact we didn’t even know the magic shot was a bear until we saw this picture. Thus our dorky expressions in what could have been a cute picture.

Following Em’s Incredicoaster ride we perused a couple gift shops. We noticed the merchandise in the CA parks stores is much more varied than what is currently offered in the FL parks.

Some shops had cartoonists at work.

I knew there was a (nother) reason why I liked you... The Holiday Turkey Sammich at Earl has always been MY favorite as well!! I even ate it once in NYC after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (otherwise ONLY at Disney Springs).

My favorite too! I get it everytime we go to vegas to eat on our planeride home. I will be in both Vegas and Disney Springs this fall, so I'm going to make sure to get it both times!

Em and I had booked separate attractions for LL#2. She really wanted to try Web Slingers and I was nervous it would trigger my motion sensitivity. We were able to book similar LL time slots so she went off to ride Web Slingers….

….while I went to my favorite dark ride.

The Lightning Lane entrance was roped off, but the standby queue was open. I finally tracked down a CM and asked why I could not enter the Lightning Lane.

He replied, “Lightning Lane is closed since the standby line is short.”

Sure, I’ll just stand out here in the heat! I thought to myself because the standby line was out the door. As I waited, I modified my (invalid) Monsters LL to Little Mermaid. I texted Em to book Mermaid after she tapped in at Web Slingers and we'd reconnect later.

I waited about 10 minutes for Monsters, so while “short” it wasn’t exactly a walk-on, which it would have been for me had I been “allowed” to use my LL!

I enjoyed my time in Monstropolis and was given a fond send-off by the one and only Roz.

Nothing like the pot calling the kettle black!
