Trip Report Tu in ‘25

Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Tu in ‘25

These lyrics came to mind when I thought about my trip reporting. (I also thought, Here we go AGAIN but the above sounds much more poignant.) It’s now that time of year when my Disney trips are frequent. And this Disney Senior loves sharing her visits with y’all because your engagement makes it fun!

Yes, there will be stuff that’s the same. Yes, there will be surprises (too soon for the reveals). And yes, there will be sun rises!

Spring break countdown is at 4 days.

Since this intro needs a picture, here are Tu.

“Let’s ride Test Track single rider,” I suggested to Em.

“Ooh, yes!” she replied. “We’ve skipped Test Track for so long I forgot it’s new. I do want to ride it a second time!”

She added, “But I want to recreate a picture first.”

The wait was quick and we ended up in the same car.

Both of us noticed new details and this particular car’s brakes were smooth.

Test Track was the extent of our time spent in park #2. It actually fit the theme as we counted it as part of our “transportation afternoon.”

Next up -

The leg to the TTC can be hot when the sun is in the west and your seats are in the direct zone.

IMG_9655.jpeg

Upon arrival at the TTC it was decision time - switch to MK monorail or take the ferry?

I let Em decide.

IMG_9656.jpeg

Of course it had to be ferry! It was a mode of transportation we hadn’t experienced this week. And we do like approaching the MK from the ferry as the grand reveal is most spectacular from its vantage point.

And our transportation wasn’t over yet! The first thing we did after entering MK was climb the steps to the train station for a reverse ride on the MPB.

IMG_9661.jpeg

I told Em I didn’t want to ride backwards so we sat on forward-facing bench.

IMG_9662.jpeg

While she’s also glad the train isn’t down for another 4-year closure, she agrees that a single leg isn’t long enough for true MPB enjoyment. We wish Disney had made the route Fantasyland > MS > Frontierland and Frontierland > MS > Fantasyland for the reverse.

Oh well.

We disembarked at the Fantasyland Station and used our leg power to get us to our next form of transportation.

I love these types of transport days!

MK was wall-to-wall people which is exactly what we expected based on our experience from last year. With MNSSHP on both Monday and Tuesday nights - and again on Thursday and Friday nights - Wednesday night was bound to be a madhouse.

Which is why we were glad for the LLs I’d secured earlier.

But those weren’t until later and we had some time before our dinner ADR. A visit with John and family at Halloween seemed fitting.

IMG_9665.jpeg

Then we crossed the hub and took the shortcut through Adventureland to see Em’s favorite stage show.

How crazy were the wait times?
IMG_9677.png

IMG_9678.png

And we had LLs for HM, Pooh and Pirates.

But in a surprising twist, we did not use a single one.

Say What Weird Al GIF

After our big meal and busy day, Em and I did not have the energy or mental capacity to fight through the crowds on the walkways. People had already begun to camp out along the parade route for 8 pm Starlight, which would be followed by HEA at 9 pm.

Those LLs were no longer valuable to us. I did cancel them and hope I made a few others happy.

We said goodbye to MK.

Bussed back to POFQ.

And made a stop in the gift store to see the Mardi Gras Minnie!

Em and I departed at zero dark thirty and we escaped without anyone seeing us making the walk of shame!

Stars were shining and I think I caught Venus in my pic.

IMG_9693.jpeg

We had an uneventful journey home. I found Poly taking solace in the lap of a stuffy, since I had dared to leave her without one 5 days.

Em’s district does not have a fall break next year so this was likely the end of our October visits. She is now in a Disney drought until spring and is not very happy about it.

I would have left the MK after dinner also after seeing the crowds around Main Street! I just don't have the energy to fight the crowds anymore as I've gotten older! So glad you had an uneventful drive home! Bummer about Em's school district doing away with the Fall Break next year as I know how much you both enjoy the Halloween decorations this time of year. Thanks so much for taking the time to entertain us with your fun adventures together!!! See ya real soon!

No
Em did not get to Disney for her birthday this year. But she was pretty happy with the alternative - a park practically to ourselves!

Dollywood looks a lovely place and what beautiful decorations. It’s strange seeing you all wearing coats. Thankyou for another brilliant report and looking forward to your November one soon.
