TTA Refurbishment on schedule?

Lord_Vader

Join me, together we can rule the galaxy.
Nice...a little bit of old school Tomorrowland coming back...
And... They are painting some of the plain silver areas bright yellow making things pop a little bit while keeping with the retro futuristic look.

I like it a lot more in person than I did in photos, kind of like the painting going on at Epcot.

Nothing to the rest of the ride except maybe some paint.

I like how the application of paint to a refurbishment is still a "maybe." We need to come up with a new word to describe TDO "refurbishments" since they typically don't really do much refurbishing. I mean I know the Disney website can't say something like, "Big Thunder Mountain will be closed for removal of show elements" or "The TTA will be closed since it's kinda close to the Astro Orbiter and we're considering painting something," or "Space Mountain will be closed so we can add fun-ruining trim breaks to prevent the ride from collapsing and to put iPad games in the queue," but seriously let's start saying that a certain ride is just, "closed." The word refurbishment implies something positive will be happening to the attraction which we all know hasn't happened to Disney rides in years.

This isn't fair at all. Simply because the resulting SHOW doesn't change - does not mean nothing was done. The range of possibilities are endless that can be reworked on a show (even like the TTA) that many would never know happened unless they were in the know. From touch-ups, mechanical overhauls, cleaning, modernization, etc.

Touch-ups and modernization can easily be done without extensive shutdowns of rides. And did you really mention cleaning as a reason to close an attraction for months? Last I checked the sun still sets. Cleaning should take place regularly when the rides close for the night. As for mechanical overhaul, no such thing is happening to the TTA. The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man went through a 9-month process to completely overhaul every inch of the ride and it was closed for less than a month since they did work during off-hours.

I have read on other threads that attractions that close without the distinction of being under refurbishment sometimes don't come back. I'd rather know that a ride is closed because it's getting a little tlc than wonder about whether or not one of my favorites is being closed for good.
