Trying to keep busy

So as of today just 3 weeks to go until my trip, mega excited but twiddling my thumbs (not sure if that is an English expression!).

All planning done, dining booked, events booked, travel money bought, FP+ done, suitcases out ready to pack but need something to keep me busy so have decided to paint my hall and landing, anything to stop me driving everyone crazy and me bouncing off the walls!!

Did think I could listen to the CD of the Candlelight Processional while painting but maybe beginning of November is a little early for that!

I know that feeling!

Someone on here a long time ago gave me a great tip: draw pictures of all things Disney and see if your family can guess what you've drawn. If you're a bad artist, it's even better. I think we did it every day for a month leading up to a trip. DH and I were hysterical at our drawings. A good one was a drawing of toys + books + crazy faces (Toy Story Mania).

Have fun and I hope the time passes quickly!

My trip begins next week. I've already begun packing. Actually, I'm finding it's better this way. I keep thinking of things to pack instead of rushing an hour before I leave! (e.g. scissors in pocket knife to cut up Dr. Scholl's pads for my feet -- yes, I need those every time)

I'm less than 2 weeks from take off and it feels like a long time in the future still. Then I look at the calendar and I realize it is almost here. I pretty much am so busy stalking the website for the elusive Ohana dinner ADR. I have this terrible habit of booking trips 2 weeks to 75 days out which makes some of the dining venues just about impossible to snag. I manage to get 3 dessert parties booked, several character dining breakfasts and dinners and Mama Melrose. I gave up BOG at dinner that I searched for 10 days for because it was going to be a 9:30 dinner and with a 1 year old in tow, I just couldn't see that being a pleasant meal so late. But I'd take Ohana no matter how late....

It might make the situation worse, but you can check out Youtube for great park music. You can also listen to park music stations using apps like Tunein, etc or on the Internet. I sometimes listen to a loop of PoC queue music at night when I go to bed- very relaxing. You can also watch some of the movies that tie in with the rides. I've never seen Cars (no little kids at home now) but since DH and I are going to DL in 4 weeks (!!!) we're going to watch Cars so we'll better understand the theme in Carsland.

Or, you could start walking, getting ready for the marathon that is a day at WDW! Listening to park music as you do, of course. :) How about cleaning out a closet? Putting meals in the freezer? LOL

Or, just enjoy the excitement and anticipation!

We still have 18 days to go and I agree with all of you, it's a hard wait, but the anticipation and the excitement of knowing you're going to WDW so soon is part of the fun for me. I love window seats and my DF is so nice and lets me have them often on planes, etc. So I told him "you can have the window seat on the Magical Express when we get there" and he said "you just want to be the first off the bus!" Lol:jawdrop::geek::p I hadn't even THOUGHT of that!

We both work 12-hour days and keep pretty busy on weekends. I had to clean our guest room today and had to move the suitcases. Combined with a big pile of laundry, I just decided "what the heck, I'll start packing." It's kind of refreshing to be organized so early!

Well painting done, I blitzed it, looks great and kept me busy for a week!

Now time to start on the packing, dining table covered in stuff and have started washing and ironing clothes for the trip, planning a bit of pre Christmas shopping here this week and just 16 days to go! Yay!

And I am still checking for (hopefully) LTT to become available during our trip

How's your packing list and touring plans? I obsessively engage in, er, I mean, enjoy tweaking them until the last minute, and it gives me an excuse to think about the trip. :)

Our trip is in 20 days and I know the feeling. I feel like all I do is talk about it to others. Luckily they all have interest. At about 2 weeks out I like watching YouTube video to really get me excited while I run at the gym.

You know what's funny...is that no matter where you're at in the world, the anticipation of going to Disney is still the same. For me, it's as simple as getting in the car and driving the 65 minutes to the front gate of MK. Others...you have to drive to an airport, fly 8+ hours, Magic Express, etc.

For me, we're about 137 days out from our first Disney vacation of 2016, but between now and then, we are going pretty much every other weekend and we also have MVMCP mixed in. The anticipation you feel right now is what I feel every Monday when I know I'm going to Disney on the weekend haha.

Do I go too much? Depends on who you ask :)

You could put up your Christmas decorations so that when you come home, it is all done and you can relax! We are DL bound in early Dec, so I plan to put mine up before we leave.

And, don't forget to check the weather a few days before you leave. We got caught one Jan when the weather took a cooler turn and I froze! (Been living in Hawaii too long- anything below 75 is cool, and below 70 is downright chilly!) The next year I brought scarf, gloves and a hat...and was thankful for them. Yeah, I was one of those bundled up walking around World Showcase like it was 32*, not 65*.
