As Marni pointed out, the tallest structure in WDW is the WDW Dolphin at 27 stories. The Epcot Wand is the second tallest and also has a blinking red light. The ToT 199 feet and that is because 200 would have required the blinking light. However as stated it is not the tallest structure in WDW.

thats not the one i was thinking, i meant to say in the parks.yes it is the TOT

Yeah the actual tallest structure in WDW is the Dolphin, but it is a neat fact as to how the ToT is the tallest structure WITHIN the parks and WHY they stopped at 199 ft

The Epcot Wand is in a park and is much taller than the ToT.

yeah i know, I quickly edited my post after reading yours because I remember ONCE THEY ADDED THAT it became taller than the ToT which WAS the tallest prior to the wand being ridiculuously added on

sorry

sorry i stand corrected... try this one....
only one part of WDW MK with regular blacktop why?
I would assume you mean Main Stree USA, as it is a street. However the only in-park locations in WDW that has traditional roadway is Streets of Amerirca at MGM, and DinoRama at AK.

Actually at the parks the tallest structure is the wand at Epcot. The overall height of the wand is I believe 257' above grade. Second place would be a tie between TOT and EEO at 199 feet above grade. The reason that they stooped at 199' was due to the FAA regulation that requires all structures 200' or larger require an aircraft warning light and the imagineers felt that in both cases the light would take away from the theming. Outside the parks I believe the Dolphin has the record at nearly 300'

BTM stops at 197ft - maybe they erred on the side of caution! Cindy Castle is 189ft - even more cautious!

I heard something once that the regulation has changed, it used to be lower and that is why Cinderella Castle is shorter than the others.

If the FAA has imposed a flight restriction around WDW, why would the same FAA require a flashing red light on any fixture over 200 ft.at WDW for aircraft avoidance?

Again, another one of those "I thought I heard once" kind of things, that the flight restrictions over WDW are related to the danger level, below a certain level it is a "courtesy" thing rather than a specific regulation. Don't know how much truth there is to that, but I have heard that somewhere.
