True time to do each park in Disneyworld

I have looked around and have yet to see any true time study on how long it would take to do each park.

Lets say you wanted to go to the Magic Kingdom and do every ride, watch each live show once (dreams come true at the castle stage) watch the day and night parade, do every meet n greet, watch the opening rope drop show and the fireworks.

If any one has the true time it takes to go trough each ride, how long the parades and fireworks are and lets average out a 10 minute wait for each ride, show, meet n greet, parade, and fireworks this would include walking time from each attraction how long would it take to do everthing in the park.

For the time study you will not eat, shop, rest or use the restroom and we will act like the parades and fireworks will start when you want so you do not have to wait till the end of the day to see the fireworks.

The reason I ask is the wide range of time people say to do each park( example the say Animal kingdom is a half day park but Epcot takes 2 days) It may be interesting to see how the time for each park breaks down.

I'm afraid the answer is "It depends".

While a time appreciation based solely on ride length and arbitrarily fixed wait times might sound viable, there are too many variables in the equation to provide an even remotely viable total:
  • How crowded is the park?
  • What speed does the slowest person in your party walk?
  • What rides are in rehab?
  • What rides are 101? [101 means broken down]
  • Is it raining?
  • Is it hurricane season?
  • Any of a number of other influences that can come into play
I think anything more than the broad-brush statements you've already found would be impossible to verify or even calculate.

I for one have always spent the full day at DHS and been quite entertained.

I believe touringplans.com has an Ultimate Touring Plan for each park that tries to fit as many attractions into a full day.....but it really really depends.

For this study we are working in a non-real world ( you won a bazzillion dollars and rented each park for the day) that has every ride open and it takes exactly 10 min from the time you get done with one attraction and start the next one at that best case scenario how long would it take?

In other words, you are the boss and the CM's are taking orders from you as to when to start each attraction?

You just need to find a guidebook that lists each of the attractions and how long each one runs and add it up.

Some things, like walking and experiencing the Maharajah Jungle Trek and other exhibits that you visit and peruse at your own pace would need to be considered.

Then what's the point? It's not a "real" study if it can't be done without idealizing the circumstances. And it certainly doesn't take 10 minutes to go from one attraction to another.

Yes the walk through attractions would need to be averaged out to a pace that you still can see all that it offers and not just running as fast as you can to get through it. That also reminds me that I forgot about all the special tours they offer like the walking tour in THE LANDS ect. When we go with the family we go for 10 day trips and it seems that we still run out of time and do not see certian things that we had planned on before we left. Granted we do shop, eat at one character meal per day, spend time at the resort and take time to sight see to look at the little things in the parks that have that Disney touch ( trying to find all the animals on the tree of life, hidden Mickeys ect).I know that nobody does or wants to do every last thing in the parks because some things you just do not like to do but if you wanted to do it all what would it take.

do every meet n greet

In the real world, this one item alone will make a drastic difference in your "study"...

That also reminds me that I forgot about all the special tours they offer like the walking tour in THE LANDS ect.

Once you add in all of those items, you have expanded your parameters to more than what the average vacation could cover. You would be looking at a few weeks to cover everything.

You have to pick some amount of time to wait/travel between attractions and I picked 10 minutes as the average. I just think it would be interesting to how long it would take to do each park.

I think you might be looking for something like this: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/ridelength.htm

That page lists the length of many WDW rides. Add all those up, find running times for parades and shows, add in your walking/M&G time, and you should be well on your way to a completely useless estimate for how long it would take to finish an empty, fully-staffed park that had opened to serve you exclusively.

Thank you for the link that was what I was hoping to find. It may be a useless study be yet it is somthing I have been wondered about since the first time I went.

Whatever time it takes you to do MK, times that by 1.5 and you have how long it will take you just to do the DL park, or at least thats what I've found it to be.

Eh, it's cool. We all have our little things. Hey, since your fantasy stipulates that Disney is letting you rent the park, why not have them throw in a golf cart to zip you between attractions too? That would save you a lot of walking time.

In a perfect world...

To eliminate the crowd conversation, just assume you've paid the big bucks for VIP Tour. Tom Cruise/Kaite Holmes style.

Assume it's a sunny day, 70 degrees.

I assume the poster would want to do every ride, so nothing is '101' or being refurbished.

IMO, I would have to say MK and Epcot are a full day to two days. AK and DHS are 3/4 of a day to a full day. This obviously depends on the weather and how busy the parks are but those I think are general ideas. Utilizing the extra magic hours also makes an enormous difference.

Also, the link to wdwinfo has Primeval Whirl listed as only being 1 min 10 seconds......no chance! It is definitely longer....perhaps closer to 2-3 minutes. The lift is so slow, that prob takes a minute. This also doesn't include the "pre-show" on many of the atttractions (i.e RnR and ToT).

Have a great time!
