I knew some fans were ticked off about the "refurb" but didn't think they'd actually go through with literally flaming it.

But seriously, I hope everything's okay.

Where were they when you saw them?

There are two routes that the RCFD would likely take to get to Space Mountain, either directly from World Drive to access the Mountain, or from the parking lot between Main Street and Tomorrowland to get to the entrance/exit building.
So unless they were seen somewhere between Buzz Lightyear and Space, I doubt SM was involved.

As nothing has hit the news, it was most likely just a false alarm somewhere.

Those might have been the firemen that were reportedly going to the Castle for another small fire, which was reported last night. They were probably heading back out after toward Tomorrowland. SM being closed might just be a coincidence.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
I understand that a fire is an emergency, and the fire fighters (I think that's the right term nowadays...) would simply take the quickest route to get to their destination, but it seems that after everything's under control, Disney would try to keep them out of sight so as to avoid people panicking or starting rumors.

They were headed for TTA, not Space Mountain. I talked to one of my friends who was on TTA when it had to be evac'd. There was a larger guest who got out of the vehicle, but fell during the evac & wasn't able to get back up, so Reedy Creek had to be called to help her up.
They got the ride going again & everything, so my friend decided to try riding it again. The larger guest also decided to ride again. The ride ended up having to be evac'd again. This time, both my friend & the other guest were in Space Mountain. Reedy Creek had to be called to help push the vehicle to an area where the guest would be able to get out of the vehicle.

I think it happened that order. I know one time the person fell during the evac & the other time they were in an area that was too hard for them to exit the vehicle. I might have gotten which happened first switched.

Wow. I have no idea how to respond to this without being a jerk. Thanks for the info.

Larger guest.....wow, I am literally :ROFLOL: just thinking of how embarrassed that I would be had it been me.

Honestly, I do live in some fear that one day, I will be asked to evac a ride. I swear, I am not the most graceful person ever either, and heights totally freak me out, outside of being in ride vehicles. Evac'ing down the slope of EE or even SpM would totally cause me to melt down in a big time panic attack.

No more fast passes?

some folks without a FP will do anything to avoid the SM line. :ROFLOL:
