My boys love the arcades @ the resorts, but the voucher doesn't go far, and you end up spending quite a bit of $$$.
I guess that's why Saratoga Springs has a game room. All resorts, especially deluxe, should have one.;)

Really? I haven't done DisneyQuest in a few years, and I recall that the vast majority if the rides/games/attractions were free after admission.

Has this changed?

It's the resort arcades. Those dinky little "video games".:O
Oh, duh...that is what you typed!

Yeah, it is quite easy to drop some dough there.

I worked 11 years at CEC though, and most of the games (especially the ticket ones) are the same. CEC used to make us test every game twice daily. Not to mention just general play. I got quite good at them. One year the kiddo and I walked out of the Contemporary Arcade with around 2k tickets, and I spent around $20.

By law, the ticket games must be skill, not games of chance. So, even the trickier ones (like cyclone), there is a trick to winning it often. In fact, as a funny aside, those laws are commonly referred to as "Chuck E. Cheese Laws".

That being said, DisneyQuest and the Arcades also annoy me, because I worked with games for so long, dirt, poor maintenance. Also, easy fixes just make me want to grab my Gem key and fix it right there instead of waiting for a tech. Though, the same thing happens to me when I visit CEC. Last visit, I went and grabbed a game tech and was actually teaching him how to fix his ticket munchers (he didn't know how to disassemble the snap mech and tweak the brakes).

I could go on, but you get the idea. And yes, you are right...those arcades and sinkholes for money!

She's wonderful and lovely and would never begin to think to ruin someone's Disney vacation, how dare you imply such a thing?

Oh, the storm, I thought you were talking about my wife. Sorry, carry on.

--- Edit -- Wow, thanks to the thread merge, my comment makes no, I say no sense. Still, I'm leaving it. Just know that it was beyond witty at the time.

My uncle and cousin knew the trick to the "claw" games. They'd come home w/ a carload and a half of stuffed animals. LOL.
That's one game I have never been able to master! We didn't have them at CEC...

My ex is really good at them though. Scary good!
Oh those darn claw grabbie machines! My ex was good at those too. Our first trip to WDW included two days at Sea World where they did have these in their arcade. He had to go to WalMart to buy a dufflebag to get those darn things home! We had close to 300 by the time my DD was one so we had her portrait done in the ET pose buried in animals. When he left we had close to 500 stuffed animals and I donated 98% of them to our local hospitals for their different children's programs.
