Heres the latest forecast track for TD5.... This really worries me. Tropical storm watches are up for some islands and it says it will be a hurricane when it reaches the caribbean....

This is so freaking messed up what everyone has had to go through the past few days, and now I see this that another one is heading into the area. I know it could go and hit Texas for all we know, but just the chance that it could come close is horrible.

Arghhhh... weather stinks.

I have a feeling this season is going to be a busy one and we are not even at the peak yet which is mid September. I am watching nervously as my job is in dockside gaming here on the MS coast and the damage it could do here will be devastating as it would to any place on the coast. But, the people who moved here from Vegas to build these casinos directly on the water simply have no idea. The moorings are a joke. Hurricane Georges proved that when we had a pirate-themed casino break lose and float away. We will have slot machines and poker tables in our front yards if we get a strong hurricane as what Charley was. I feel for you guys. Let's hope they all stay away from the U.S. and we all can enjoy the rest of the season in peace.

I hope for the sake of all the people in Florida and the surrounding area that both of these possible storms take a different path, or die out completely. I realize the devistation that can be caused by a hurricane, though I know my area was not as hard hit, I lived through Hurricane Isabel, when it came up the bay and sat over top of us for a few days.

Everyone down there is in my prayers, and I'm hoping that neither of the storms hit, and allow for people to recover and regroup from this storm.

The down side of living in "paradise" is dealing with the occasional pesky hurricane...the good thing about stuff now, is that you can actually "see" the storm coming...imagine way back, when there weren't any fancy devices to project storm paths and the like....

I just hope these new storms die out before they encounter any land....

Just when you thought it was safe... here comes Earl! It's apparently still following the same path Charley took. I'm just praying it'll shift more west and either fizzle out int he gulf or hit elsewhere. There is no way we Floridians will be able to handle 2 hurricanes in just as many weeks.

GO AWAY EARL!!!!

I just keep checking the Weather Channel's tropical update at http://www.weather.com/newscenter/tropical/ .

I went on a cruise to Bermuda once and the night before I arrived, two hurricanes named Chris(my uncle's name) and Debbie(my mother's name) hit the island at the same time. The waves on the ocean were something like 40 ft and the cruise ship was pulling one of those old WB cartoon things where the ship would ride up the wave for several seconds, hold, then crash forward. It was nuts.

They say earl is following Charleys past almost exactly, just have to watch this one as the week goes by, Hurricane Danille is out by Africa doesn't look like it is going to hit the U.S. but you never know.

It is WAY too early to tell, however, computer models are split between taking the storm into the Yucatan and bringing it up towards the Panhandle.

It now looks like the hurricane center/NOAA is predicting Earl to go towards Belize. Let's all hope away from SE United States for good. Now...when and where will Frances form? :(

I just saw where the National Hurricane Center has downgraded Earl. It is now classified as an open tropical wave with winds of less than 30mph. They will post no more updates unless Earl regenerates. WHEW! I think we needed some good weather news!

Maybe some good news here. According to latest reports, Danielle will stay out to sea, and Earl is Earl no more. He's been downgrded to a tropical wave and is head toward Mexico.

From The weather channel:
"Tropical Storm Earl, in the eastern Caribbean, has been downgraded to a tropical wave. There's still a decent chance the wave could regenerate into a tropical storm as it steams westward into the central and eventually the western Caribbean. But current indications are the system probably will move across the Yucatan Peninsula and not follow the same track as Charley."

Yeah Earl pretty much fizzled out. Yay! And Danielle doesn't look like will be a threat. But now a new storm has formed over by Africa so we'll see what happens with that.

I hate hurrican season! 3 and a half months to go to! Ugh!
