You know…it would be nice if I ever got an Answer as to why the hell this one is taking so long?

this isn’t guardians….this is a clone where modifications and fabrication are computer generated.

deliberative pacing is so low rent.

Okay as I contributed to the off-topic part, I'll contribute to getting us back on ....track.
What is this vertical construction? Entrance/exit walkway? washrooms? train tunnel?

To my knowledge, the construction crew has changed hands at least three times. I don't know anything about construction, but it makes sense that once the previous crew leaves, there is some sort of time in-between where work just...stops.

But one could argue that changing crews shouldn't impact a build that significantly.

When you don’t have to design any new systems and vekoma is building your ride?

it REALLY shouldn’t

What are you calling the “crew”? Construction isn’t done by one group of people that do everything. There are different groups that do different tasks, some who work directly for the general contractor and others who work for subcontractor. The guy erecting steel structures isn’t also going to be installing light fixtures and hanging drywall. In a well managed and scheduled project you’re not going to have dead time.

There have been issues with supplies and materials that can hurt when work can be performed, and it can have a ripple effect, but it’s not about changing who is doing the work.

My thoughts exactly.
Universal managed to open two new INTIMINS that are Heavily Themed/Landscaped. That is incredible considering the bugs intimins always have. They are also both multi launch coasters with one being heavily themed and special tech tricks.

Tron won't even get its day in the sun unless Guardians at EPCOT is really pushed back. A more immersive take and popular property. Those openings are far too close to each other.

I genuinely do not know. The words I used are the words that were given to me. Again, I don't know much about construction. I do understand that it's not just one "crew" that services the entire structure. But I don't know the answer to which "crew" has changed hands––or if its a matter of multiple contractors shifting.

I’m aware…

but six flags puts one up in 4 months…not four years.

and before I get “it’s not the same…”.
It’s a hell of a lot closer in this instance.

this is manipulative nonsense
Having been enthralled by SpaceX's Starbase construction and seeing how fast they build things, and blow things up and build them again and how it literally is rocket science, it's just amazing what can be done swiftly when they don't care too much what Wall Street thinks about the P&L.

I know it's not really possible, but I wish it were a structure to replace Tomorrowland Light & Power so that they can eventually blow that up and restore what was originally there.

It was purposely delayed. At some point mandated due to covid restrictions. Does that cover all the time, absolutely not.
I will add to your point above having to work the design to shoe horn in to keep the speedway and other items I am sure cause many stress issues on this design. Not to mention the extra berm work and water work on the other side that had to happen.

It’s not really added stress, but it is part of the design process, which hadn’t really started when the project was announced.

Site work is substantial here…but they’ve been vertical for several years.

here’s the gripe…and we all know it. They don’t build as their reputation is based on. They stretch it out and ration it on a financial schedule …not just doing it and opening it.

and that robs all the people paying for six months prior to opening…which none of the previous management ever did.

we have the PERFECT example of that right now.

finished ride behind a wall.

I don't begrudge them holding Rat until the 50th. They have to be able to offer something new.....

As for Tron, who knows, it is pretty aligned here by most they picked the wrong park, picked the wrong spot, and quite frankly should have expanded the area and lost speedway if they were not going to update it. But don't forget part of the original plan was to "TRON" the speedway, but budget cuts killed that.

But hey, maybe in time for 40th Epcot?

Seriously though, while I totally agree the delay and time to build this is ridiculous, it will be open for the 50th by all reports, at least halfway through the celebration....
