Trip Report!!!

Ok we were there from the 19th thru the 28th 1st couple of days were pretty hot,til about tuesday or so and the crowds were pretty big. The biggest wait I saw was soarin at 140 min. We stayed 2 nights at the pop century and the rest at the poly, the pop was nice but pretty basic, I dont think we would stay there again. The poly was nice and it was great to be on the monorail but I think it was way to over priced, the rooms were pretty big and nice..But we Love the animal kingdom lodge way better. On another note a while back I made a remark in another post about someone getting a free cookie for YOAMD and I said it was cheap of disney to do that..Well would'nt you know it I was on my way thru the lobby of the poly and I was asked by a cast member if I wanted a free cookie he had a big tray of them,so I took one it was nice to get the cookie and I guess I have to eat crow on that one.. We went to MNSSHP it was pretty packed but had a great time. Well My wife and I are heading back to WDW the end January in to feb I cant wait were staying at POFQ our 2nd favorite resort..

I've never stayed at AKL or the Poly but will be staying at the Poly on my next trip. Did you like it? Any hints, etc.?

The ploy was nice but not worth the money. being on the monarail was nice but not worth the price. The poly was old looking but since the rooms were redone they were real big with a flat panel TV (but no hd). When you take a shower the bathroom gets too hot. because it has an automatic fan that only kicks on when you walk in front of a sensor. condensation goes all over the bath room celing, lightbulbs were burnt out. the door handle on the closet was broke. but the advantages were you could take the monarail to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot. Captain Cooks was a good place to eat. The food at the kona cafe was great. Nice pools. got a free cookie. It wasnt that bad but I dont think will stay there again.

Yeah, I've never been able to justify the extra $$$ for Poly, although sometimes waiting at the buses, I strongly think about it. Do you have any pics of MNSSHP?

I know, I know ... help me

I fully admit that I'm biased towards the Poly. We stayed there for the first time last spring. It had always been a dream of mine to stay there, and I had VERY high expectations. The Poly fulfilled them all and then some. We are planning to stay there again next May. (couldn't swing it for Christmas; way too much $$) I would consider the Contemporary only if we were getting a really, really good discount. If the cost was comparable, Poly would win, hands down. I'm sure wherever you end up staying, that you will have a wonderful time!
