Well here’s my trip report for July 13th-19th.

To start off I had a great time and still wish I was still down in FL! I can’t believe how difficult it is to try to cover 4 parks in 5 1/2 days! We seriously thought we’d fit a water park in there but never got a chance. We stayed at the All Star Music resort and had a blast! Great food, great service, great time!

We started off our trip in Animal Kingdom and experienced the new attractions there. The new parade is very “Tapestry” in a sense that the floats are gigantic puppets operated by the cast. It was a very cool idea!!! Primeval Whirl was pretty cool and seemed to fit well into the theming of Chester & Hester’s dinoland. What I found the most hilarious is that Imagineers had to make the tarmac look aged and worn with cracks and all. Later on that evening we checked out SpectroMagic at MK and I must say I love this parade. If I had a choice to watch this or Main Street Electrical Parade, I would watch SpectroMagic again. It’s very beautiful and the variety of floats is amazing! Next up was Fantasy in the Sky with Tinkerbell. They had the regular show and tacked on a little bit more for the 100 Years of Magic Celebration. It was pretty cool.

Next up was Magic Kingdom. The next day we went around and used Fast Pass to the fullest extent. Under all that heat, we decided to get FP tickets for all the lines that were outside, it really helped out! We did all the family attractions and then headed back home. The wait times for all the attractions were an hour plus. (E-ride night helped cover all the cool rides, no wait no lines, just run from one attractions to the next as many times as possible!)

Epcot was next, we checked out Future world during the afternoon and got to see the majority of the pavilions. We got a FP for Test track and the return time was 6 hours away. Ick :P. Nothing much as changed in there except that the attractions in this part of Epcot closed around 7 or so.

The studios/Epcot was supposed to be next on our agenda, but Epcot was shut down due to a power failure. That really sucked! The entire park was closed and all the other parks were filled to the brim with guests! The studios was hammered by the influx of guests that they had to show 2 Fantasmics, and all the other parks stayed open later due to the closing :( . So we stayed at the Studios all day long. We took plenty of pictures of the sorcerer’s hat (okay in my opinion). Then we checked out some of the new attractions, we also redid some of our favorites.

On the next day, Epcot’s World Showcase was our final stop. We worked our way around WSC starting in Canada. We made it as far as AA, and then we had to go back to the resort. From there we spent the night goofing around in the pool and then dinner at Wolfgang Pucks restaurant in DTD.

On our final day we went shopping at DTD, for our last minute souvenirs. I picked up a couple of cool books and “toys.”

Things I noticed:
> No bar code on resort cups. I thought they were going to do it but I guess I was wrong. We bought one cup and we’d share it among the 6 of us. (We all had our own ‘smaller’ cups to drink from-refill the Disney one and split it out amongst the family). For $10, I think we “beat” Disney.

>New maps: If you’ve been to Disney in the past you’d know that all the times for shows were published on the map. Not any more. They’ve printed a map with locations and restaurants, but no times. A separate sheet of paper lists all the times for attractions and shows. I’m guessing saves moola.

>A lot of the shows have this thing where the narrator will say, “Walt once said that…” to help celebrate the 100 years of Magic. It’s pretty cool.

>Packed parks? Not at all. Take MK for example. We went on Sunday and it was okay. Wait times were 1 hour for the major attractions and 45 for the smaller ones. Thank goodness for FP we were able to cover all the classics by the end of the afternoon. as for the other parks, they weren’t packed at all. DAK had 0 min wait to get on Kilamanjaro Safari’s (a first for me!).

>Once Upon A Toy is Open. I don’t know the exact date it opened but, all I know is that It was open on the 19th. I spent way too much time playing with Mr. Potato head. For 12.99 I was trying to stuff as many parts into the milk carton box. I managed to fit almost everything in there. It’s a game in itself trying to get everything in there. As for the rest of the store I didn’t get to see everything. We were in a rush to get out of there, we had to get back to the resort to catch our flight home.

>Tapestry of Dreams is fairly different from Tapestry of Nations. It’s no longer purely way-la, way-la, way-la. It’s more like…way-la, I dream…, way-la, I dream (in another language), way-la. It’s not as easy to ‘dance’ to.

>E-Ride night. If you got a park hopper pass or anything more expensive than this, make sure you make use of the E-Ride night. From 10-1AM you get to ride 9 rides all night long with no wait. It’s a first for me and I loved it!!!! I got to do all the rides I missed on the day I went with family.

>Space: It’s the same as before, but with a couple of small things outside. (Just look up the space thread) All I really noticed is that they were painting stuff around the building. It looks great and I’m looking forward to its opening.

>Epcot closed on the 17th. Yeah since the park was closed all 3 other parks were jammed packed. We decided to go to the Studios to get the most out of the day. It took quite a bit of time to get through security and then into the park. We decided to grab a bite to eat at the Commissary and then head out. It was not until then till my grandmother decided that she would need a wheelchair. My uncle had to run out to the main entrance and pick one up. It took him 30 minutes just to pick one up. They were out of WC and strollers by 1pm. Shows you how fast that place got packed. All the parks had extended hours and additional shows (Indiana Jones, the Little Mermaid, Millionaire, and Fantasmic!). I also noticed that some of the cast members from Epcot were at the other parks too. I spoke to someone at the Muppets and she had no idea what I should do with wheel chairs. So I was assuming that she wasn’t from the Studios. As for my friend who worked at Epcot, she stayed in the office doing paper work trying to get things done without the use of a PC. She managed to work a couple of hours or so.

Finally a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all the bus drivers, especially the ones who make the ride more enjoyable. You make the ride to and from our destinations so much quicker!!!
