Trip Itinerary Sept '09

Hey everyone..
I'm in the early stages of planning our 2nd trip. Just thought I'd run it by the experts on here to see what you all think. Next month we'll be 180 out...can you still make ADR's at that time, and by phone? Anyway, here goes:

Sept 23rd Wed: Hoping for an early flight, do the early check in, leave the bags and head to DHS. Hoping for ADR at Sci-Fi.

Sept 24 Thur: MK all day. Hoping for ADR at 1900 Park Fare.

Sept 25 Fri: Epcot all day. Hoping for ADR at Le Cellier or Coral Reef.

Sept 26 Sat: AK all day. Where to eat? And is this a wise choice on a weekend? Trying to avoid it being packed.

Sept 27 Sun: MK all day. Unsure of ADR. Tony's perhaps?

Sept 28 Mon: Check out, late flight. Possible quick trip to DTD.

Before anyone says it, I appreciate those of you who manage to park hop. However, that's just not for us. I'd be too stressed worrying about time/day management and such. Thanks in advance!

Your choices are great. Will you be traveling with kids?
We've eaten at Sci-Fi (L)...not my favorite but the kids enjoyed it.
We've eaten at 1900 Park Fare (BF)... Bit pricey but food and atmosphere very nice.
Have not eaten at Le Cellier or Coral Reef but have heard Le Cellier is fabulous! Too much $$$ with 3 kids.
How about the new Yak&Yeti??? Haven't eaten there though.
Just ate at Tony's (D)...Italian...which I love...its in my blood! However VERY LOUD! We have eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern (when they had characters...wouldn't go now since they no longer have characters). Also ate at Crystal Palace...nice buffet with Winnie the Pooh characters...kids loved it! Garden Grill is nice...has characters at dinner.

ADR's can be made only 90 days ahead...they changed it a few months ago.

Good luck and bon apetite:wave:

I don't have too much to offer up here, but here is my 2 cents;

Never been to Sci-Fi although I have wanted to try it. I like Prime Time Cafe and we usually eat there.

I have eaten at 1900 Park Fare for Character Breakfast (although I haven't been there in about 2 years) and I loved it, it is one of my favorites. The characters were Winnie the Pooh, Alice, Mad Hatter etc. The breakfast buffet was delicious and at that time it wasn't any more expensive then any other character breakfast.

Le Cellier is AMAZING. I have never had a better meal. I think it is very romantic in there also. If you are traveling with kids depending on the age you may want to try something else. But thats me, I am sure many on these boards have done it with no problems.

At AK we have only eaten at places like Flame Tree and Pizzafari LOL. SO can't help you there.

And again, at MK we typically only do CS places. I am too busy running around trying to do everything twice to sit for a lenthy meal. But there are many good places at MK. Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree are great.

I probably didn't help much but have fun anyway...

We ate at Yak and Yeti this past Dec. I thought it was better than a lot of people had given it credit for... I had the baby back ribs, and it was a lot of food and pretty tasty. Had fried wontons for dessert--YUM. HOWEVER, an AK day is a great day to plan to eat OUTSIDE of a park (since it closes "early").

I thought Le Cellier was about the best place to eat on property until I ate at Ohana. It was incredible. Also, choose a time that coincides with Wishes, and you can see the fireworks from Ohana (especially if you're lucky enough to get a seat by the windows). We had great seats for Holiday Wishes this past December.

SO, my suggestion (if you like meat, anyway) would be to try to hit Ohana either on an MK day (because it's easily accessible via monorail) OR maybe plan to do it on your AK day.

One more thought: you might consider swapping the 23rd and 24th. Two reasons:
1) DHS IS a smaller park, BUT if you want to do anything more than once or if you want to see many of the shows, you will probably want the whole day. Especially if you want to ride/fastpass Toy Story Mania--need to hit it first thing (along with everyone else).
2) You already have another whole day at MK. I mean, I've done 3 days at MK and STILL not done everything I intended to do, BUT I think you can stand to lose 3 or 4 hours at MK (when you have multiple MK days) more than you could DHS (of course, this depends on what you are going to DHS for... if you really only care about doing a few things, it's not going to matter THAT much...)

If you go to DTD and are on the dining plan, eat at Wolfgang Puck Express for a CS meal--it is REALLY good.

Thanks, everyone, for the excellent tips!

I guess I should have given a little more info...We are on the Dining Plan, and there's me, DW, and DD(5).

On our last trip, we visited Crystal Palace, Coral Reef (our fav!), Cinderella's Table, Hollywood & Vine, Planet Hollywood (yuck!), and Whispering Winds(?-at FW). So we would like to see what else there is...except we may have to visit Coral Reef again. I'm not sure taking a 5 y/o to Le Cellier is a good idea-DW wants to go there.

I'm hoping and praying Southwest has a very early crack-of-dawn direct flight on the 23rd, so we can hit DHS at opening, because TSMM is a MUST! If not, then we probably will MK as gettingsmaller suggested.

Thanks everyone!
