Trees Clearing

That might simply be staging area for heavy equipment and construction material, clear some space so regular operations can go on with major impact and yet still have enough area to stage heavy equipment and needed construction materials.

I heard the clearing of the trees is because Disney is planning to build a new Stitch show in their 27th attempt at making Lilo and Stitch popular....:lookaroun

There are actually two tree clearings taking place right now around the Magic Kingdom. The land opposite Pluto Park is being cleared and is pictured in post 6. Directly behind the tunnel, another area was being cleared. It used to house the doves and other buildings. The area directly above the text "Magic Kingdom Dr" and the buildings have been cleared.

Ideally this would be an employee parking garage that could replace all the parking areas that currently exist in the park. A covered walkway could lead behind the BatB pavilion and connect directly to utilidors allowing people to arrive in depart no matter the weather. MK Drive could then enter from the north and thereby open up the entire area for possible future expansion, parade staging or whatever. Parades through the new FLE would be much better than through Frontierland. And fireworks could be staged from the roof of the new garage. Yep, that would work.

I believe that may be the BEST idea that you've ever imagineered.

Thanks! I have an idea of where you must have to park.

Just to add some icing, Disney could offer free outlets for people to use that purchase the new electric cars coming to market soon. That could be some green tech Disney could brag about and a nice perk for employees.

Eh, not sure about the fireworks or moved parade, but a parking structure would definitely be a good idea. That would then open up the Main St/Tomorrowland lot for expansion area.

The parade wouldn't work because FLE is just too narrow and winding to accommodate a parade. Also, there's no backstage way to connect that area with the area behind Splash without driving on Floridian Way, or having to run the parades like Disneyland and either run the parade different directions with each showing or relocate the floats after the park closes.

I disaree with your disagreement. All the paths and bridges of the new FLE wouldn't need to be parade capable. That would ruin the aesthetics. However a cental path designed with parades in mind could be designed without ruining the intimate atmosphere of the forest. Certainly the path could be made at least as wide as the Frontierland/Liberty Square bottlenecks. Not only that but a path through the FLE could make the parade route substantially longer which the MK could really use. The parades can terminate or originate between the firehouse/Emporium on MSUSA. There would not be much problem "resetting" the parade after hours or running it in each direction as required.

They cleared trees near the TTA for monorail site lines, but it doesn't seem like that's the case here - I think Fantasyland trailers is the most likely thing.
