We are planning next year's trip. There will be 9 of us. We have narrowed our resort choices to the Treehouses or Bay Lake Tower. Please help us make a decision!!!! What would your choice be & why? Keep in mind that we will have a wheel chair for dad. We will also have 4 adults and 6 kids - ranging from 16 to 2 years. Please help us!!!

BLT. Mainly because of the wheelchair. The conveinience of the elevator, the flat surfaces, and quick access to the monorail will be so useful to you. But, I can certainly see why you are torn. We are buying into DVC once I start working down there and I want BLT ot the Treehouses becuase they are so nice, who wouldn't want first dibs there?

I think the proximity of BLT to the MK, plus the restaurants so close by should be enough to choose BLT.

My family stayed at the Treehouses years ago befor the remodel and you had to climb a flight of stairs to get into them. No elevators. I don't know how they work now but I see no cost effective way to make them all wheelchair accessable unless they put an elevator in each house. And, it would have to be one long or steep ramp for the other option.

not to pry or sound obnoxious but are you (or are you going to be) DVC members? It might be extremely difficult to get in either resort even if you are a member. Bay Lakes is destined to be very popular, and there are only (I think) 60 treehouse villas, & DVC members will get dibs. I wish you the best of luck, but you may want to explore other options too. but twixt those choices, & your situation, I'd say Bay Lake. More traveling options by monorail & walking distance to MK. Treehouses are close to DTD but all other travel is your own car or disney bus.

Thanks, everyone for your help. I called Disney Travel, asking about resorts to hold 9 people. The agent suggested BLT. I said I thought that was for DVC members. He said there will be a certain number of rooms available for non members. I told him I wasn't coming to WDW until December 2010. He gave me a date to call back and I could reserve room only until next year's prices came out & then I could change to a package, etc. for where ever I decided to stay. This is all "up in the air" right now, and I'm sure my resort choices will change a time or 2.

On that note, dad (in the wheelchair) would be able to go up stairs at the treehouses, so I'm not too worried about that part. I loved the kitchen & layout of the treehouses. However, I do like the convenience of having the monorail right there for transportation to EPCOT & MK. Decisions, Decisions!!!!
