If Treasure Planet takes place in space...why...does the ship need sails? (The last time I was up there...there was no wind)

They're supposed to look somewhat like ships... to make the ships look more "ship-like" they added sails!

I agree. It was a bad concept. The idea was to tap into the "youth market" with a "solar sailer". Not too cool. Classic case of old men without a clue.
