Dave...Welcome to the boards! (or welcome back....didn't you say you were on these boards as a different name a year or so ago?) Anyway, a few comments...

1. Ponchos on the water rides: I've done it! And was very glad i did! It's not the "getting wet" part I don't like, its the walking around the park after you've gotten wet that is the horrible part. You end up with blisters/rashes, etc... in places that you didn't think were possible ('nuff said)

2. Copies of the tickets/passes, etc: What a WONDERFUL idea!!! As as I am and believe me, my OCD goes out of control when planning a WDW trip, I never thought of that. I do bring a cheap folder with lots of info and PS times/places in it. I'm sure that if you lose you pass (as so many people have done) that having a copy of it will make things a lot easier. Thanks for the tip!

3. The show: I didn't like it. Too much was cut. Even for someone who has never been to WDW (do those people really exist??? I know, I know....they do) I don't think it was enough. I agree that it should have been an hour show for each family. That would have been GREAT. Dave, you did a wonderful job. But I do have to say, when my 15 yo daughter saw the schedules you made, she laughed and said "You know those boys would be off doing their own thing if this were not TV" Thats when it hit me. None of you on there were "doing your own thing." It was dictated by the people running the show. So, keeping that in mind, I'll probably watch it again, many times over just to see Disney World.

Have fun on your REAL vacation!!! Hey, I know...... you can video the whole thing, and put on the net for US(wdwmagic people) to see how you REALLY do Disney! :)

I didn't care much for the content - but that's because I'm already familiar with almost all of what was presented in the show! :D My wife and I laughed at the suggestion that you can make a PS for the breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table *up to* 90 days in advance.   That was quite humorous.

One thing we noticed: the honeymooning couple apparently awoke at 8:50am, had a spa treatment, and were at the entrance to Epcot by 10:15am, the same day??? There were many other things we took issue with, but I don't need to nitpick here. I'm sure it accomplished it's goal of "educating and familiarizing" those who don't have much experience with WDW. And that's fine. I simply enjoyed the visuals and the show for what it was. :sohappy:

BTW, I live just a few miles east of you, Dave. :p

About passes -- I always copy the BACK of any hopper passes I get. If they're ever lost or stolen, you're screwed unless you have that copy. With the copy, Disney will help you -- without it, forget about Ohana's.

As far as the schedule and staying with our kids, well, this again shows difference between families. I'll admit we have a "weird" family who really enjoys being with each other. On one of our trips a few years ago we bought a few of those walkie-talkie's so we could go different directions, but we never used them because we spent the whole week together. It continues the same today, and I hope it continues when the grandkids come (YEARS from now). So, yes -- as far as that portion, the video was accurate. And as far as the flaming schedules, this next trip my oldest son (who departs for college a week later) is creating the schedule for the family. The retentive gene is in him, too!

Break out the popcorn, the special reairs tomorrow at 8 & 11pm central.

Thanks for the info about the passes. That may save a lot of people a lot of money.

Maybe I'm taking this the wrong way, but I took offense to your comment about your "weird" family that likes to spend time together. We are one of those families that likes to spend time with each other too, BUT spending every waking minute of a vacation with ANY family can be trying. I love my husband and daughter with all my heart (even though my hubby doesn't like Disney as much as I do...I'm learning to deal with that), but we all enjoy time on our own. We are allowing our daughter (only child) to bring a friend so that they can "do their own thing" every now and then. I guess the thing that I took offense to was that it sounded like you were saying that my family didn't like spending time together. Just so you know, we do. We spend A LOT of time together....too much, in fact. Everyone needs time to themselves and that doesn't mean that we don't like spending time together. If you didn't mean it that way, then ok....but that is the way it sounded.

And I know what you mean about the grandkids ... Although it will be a while (10 years or so) before I have grandchildren, I can not wait to take them to WDW. And believe me, they will not be out of my sight.

Please, please -- no offense was ment to you or your family by my comment on my family being "weird." So sorry -- it's hard conveying humor and intent in this medium. I'll keep my keyboard quiet.

I enjoyed the show but merely because of the fact it showed Disney. I'm going through major withdrawels now that I've watched it.

Not to sound offensive but to me, that was a little to for me. I like to go to Disney and go wherever my heart desires. I would plan my first trip to make sure I've seen everything but after that I'm not so sure. I like to wander. It's the beauty of such a big place. Each time, each step is always something new. To me, planning seems like it would be the same vacation every trip.

Of course you have to plan the actual trip, but in my opinion..not the order of which you visit each attraction.

Regardless, my fiance were sitting there watching it and when the "wishes" segment came on I looked over and she was teary eye. During the wishes track, is the moment I proposed to her so I guess it brought her (and I) some great memories. So that made the show well worth it.

Anyway, the show, the people seemed very informative and def. showed their love for WDW and that is something to commend. Hopefully that show will be the light at the end of the tunnel to people debating on where to spend their next vacation. If they are having doubts..Disney all the way!

Good job and congrats on such a score! I would have loved a free trip ;)

I watched it again last night. Still feel the same as far as too much was cut, but I have to admit that I enjoyed it SO much more since DaveDisney has posted on here and become part of the WDWMAgic family. I felt like I almost "knew him" . Was it just me or did anyone else feel that too? (ok..I'm overly sentimental... my husband tells me that all the time) I just thought it was neat!!

I thought the show was okay, but they did cram way too much into that one hour. It should've been a 2 hour show.

And if anyone ever tried to hand me a schedule for visiting a Disney park, I'd cram it down their throat. I have always detested things like that. I like seeing the parks the way I want to. That's why I like going by myself alot. I see what I want to see, when I want to see it. It's all on my schedule (and the park's).

But since I'm a local, I really don't have to do any real planning outside of what day to go, what park to visit and where to eat. Since I live only an hour away, I can do day trips no problem. That's what I'll be doing when I go to Epcot one day next week.

Does the sunrise safari actualy exist or did they do that just for the show? Do you have to be staying at AKL to take advantage of it ?

Yes, the sunrise safari does exist, and I believe you have to be staying in the AKL concierge to take advantage of it. They've mentioned it on Samantha Brown's show on the Travel Channel (Great Hotels) when she stayed at the AKL. Looks like a cool experience.

I enjoyed the show! sure, none of the tips were relevant, and I really didn't learn anything I didn't already know, but I got to see clips of WDW! That's all that matters, keep the WDW specials coming!!!

I'm tired of getting negative reputation points from this thread for being honest. I didn't like the show and neither did many people from this forum until Dizney Dave revealed himself. Like I said earlier to Dave, "I'm sorry they cut out so much stuff". Truth be told, I was dissappointed with the show, and I feel bad for the people that were on the show.

P.S. Giving out negative points isn't a brave thing to do if you don't give your name. If you want to make a statement, stand by it and let people know that it's you. I only give out positive points that way you don't make anyone mad or sad. Unless you are God, you aren't perfect and shouldn't be giving people negative points. Smile, today is the first day of the rest of your life!
